What type of anxiety is this?!


Question: What type of anxiety is this!?
I think it's social anxiety, as I am terrified of social situations and meeting new people and talking on the phone and will usually just drink to feel better!. I hate going places alone and have been known to not leave the house on days that I have no one to accompany me, even though I have stuff that needs to get done!.
BUT, I can get up and go to work!. I can meet a friend at a restaurant!. On a very very good day I can grocery shop alone!. Is it social anxiety if it's not constant!? How come some days I can get up and do something alone, and on others I'm petrified and can't leave the house!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Social Phobia (Social Anxiety Disorder)

Social phobia, also called social anxiety disorder, involves overwhelming anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in everyday social situations!. Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!

Hi, I do believe you may be suffering from social anxiety!. I suffer from it also and can see that you are finding the same things hard as I am!. Depending on your current mood you may be able to do things more successfully than other days!. Social anxiety is an illness and if left untreated can become more and more overpowering on your life!. You may find it helpful going to your GP to see if he can refer you to a therapist who can help you understand what made you develop this anxiety!.

I have this all the time, and yes it is social anxiety!. Mine is that I can't even leave my house due to my phobia of getting sick!. There are workbooks and such that you can do to help you get over social anxiety, for me I'm on 2 different kinds of meds (because I deal with depression as well)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it does sound like social anxiety!. Even though it's not constant, that's still what it is!. There is most likely an underlying reason why you feel this way in public, and I would suggest seeing a counselor to help figure it out!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

To me Anxiety is Anxiety!.Try medication and if that not an option see a therapist they really help!.They will teach you how to cope with it!.It is something that can be over came!.Trust me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I also have this, im not sure what it is, but its awful - I also get really bad panic attacks in some situations - like if I bump into someone I havent seen for years, but other days Im fuul of confidence - its awful!Www@Answer-Health@Com
