Addiction is often thought of by many people as a weakness and because of this most people do not get treatment!. The privacy practices allow a patient to get the help they need while allowing them to maintain a level of anonymity!. If there were no privacy laws people could call up rehabs, detoxes and MD's to get information on people!.
