No sweetheart you are not a hypochondriac,if you are then the majority of people i know are all hypochondriacs!.
When we become scared, worried or even happy the first noticeable changes are in our heart rate and our breathing!.You say that you cannot breath properly does this mean that you can breath out but not in!? It is quite normal and happens to us all at some time and for no apparent reason, all you can do is try and think of something else but it will eventually return to normal!.The problem is that the more you think about it the worse it will seem to be!.I know all this is easier said than done, but it is normal and just an uncomfortable feeling which does pass,so try not to worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You sound like your suffering from Healthy Anxiety

How do i know!? Because i suffer as well

It's not very nice, but i spent 3 weeks of last month controlling my breathing, thinking that if i stopped controlling it, i would die

i thought i was gonna die in the drs surgery when i was waiting to see her , it was horrible

it is really scary - but the best thing i can say to you is your NOT going to die

Have you thought about seeing your doctor

www!.nomorepanic!.co!.uk - they have a forum and theres a one on health anxiety, read it, you will realise you are not alone, always makes me feel better, because i thought i was the only one

It sounds to me that you are having panic attacks!. I used to have them at your age too but one day I woke up and thought, you know what, I'm still alive! I've lost count how many times I visited the doctors just for reassurance!. Panic attacks can be so severe that you really feel as though you can't breath and the more you panic the worse it gets!. You could try breathing slowly in a PAPER bag as this helps!. You could try hypnosis or even Bach Remedy and Kalms from the chemists or health store!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Health Anxiety is a real thing that people get!.

You should talk to your doctor and get some help for it!.

Therapy can help a lot, don't be afraid of it, you can train yourself not to think that way in very much the same way you learned to be that way in the first place!.

Most people's breathing will change when they concentrate upon it anyway :)

Try not to worry too much and go get some help!.

Love,

Cal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have an anxiety/phobia fixed on breathing, things like this are really common, you should see a counsellor/psychologist, who will definitely be able to help you, it is best to sort these things out sooner rather than later, with a little help you'll be fine:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry, you are normal but perhaps a little highly strung!. I avoid the cracks in the pavement so we are all a little mad!

If it starts to affect your life negatively, get to the doctors!. You are still very young and it's part of growing up!. Relax, you are NOT going to die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow, i've never really had that!.!.!. all i can say is dont think about breathing!!!

it might be athsma (did i spell that right!?!)

go to your doctor & tell them!. that might be what it is!.

i have thought i was dying before!.
it was like in emergencys though!.

and here i am!. so i know it feels like it's stupid, but it's not!.
good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is neither normal nor weird!. It's a problem with the brain, I don't mean you're insane but you shouldn't be that nervous!. Don't concentrate on it!.!. just take it easy and soon the problem will be gone!. It used to happen to me!.!. so I know what I'm talking about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds to me like a panic attack that has gotten into a habit or a phobia!.I assume you are not asthmatic !? I ask that as sometimes people with asthma say similar!.
As someone has already said when they were small they used to avoid the cracks in the pavement, i used to do that also, feeling if i stepped on one it would give me an unhappy day at school, one one occasion i remember quite clearly i thought after playing with some costume jewellery, a fake pearl necklace, and it snapped, one went down my ear, i was convinced it had disappeared down there and would burrow into my brain and kill me!. I was taken to the GP who said it was not there, but i was having none of it, as far as i was concerned it was, and for the next 5 or so years slept only with my head on the other side of the pillow so it would not go further down and kill me!.so from 6 to about 11 i did that!.
A habit can form with any idea, yours sound very nasty, if breathing exercises has failed i think the only answer left is a referral from your GP to overcome it!.If you do not do something now you will be at risk later on of not being able to go out!. After such a time i think it will be very strange for it to just go on its own as you are now grown up!.

To go is the first step, then it will all be easy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!
I am from Argentina, and i'm 16 years old, so I'm sorry for my bad english!.
Well, It sometimes happens to me!. I mean, it used to happen when i was younger, until I realised it all hapened IN MY MIND!. Then I tried to conecntrate on not thinking about it!.
Last friday I was on an "energy course" and besofr we start the class we make "yoga", and the first excercise is to control my breathing!. I dont know what happened to me but on a moment i felt presssion on my chest and I CULDNT BREATH!. Everyone stared at me and did nothing!. They all were impressed!. I thought: "OmG, i might be about to die and they do nothing!"!. Finally the teacher fetched me a glass of water and after some minutes I could get my breathing again!.
REMMEBER: IT ALL HAPPENS INSIDE YOUR MIND!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you should go to a psychologist and tell them all this that concerns you!. They would help you a lot! Trust me!. :)
I hope my comment helped :)
My writing is delimited by my knowledge, I hope you catched what I tried to say :)
Kisses
I hope you get better
:)
