I can't conrol myself?!

Question: I can't conrol myself!?
I am 18 years old and I got my car and license about three months ago!. I drove a lot when I had my permit, so I do know how to drive!. The problem is that I have had two accidents in the past month, both involving extensive damage to both my car and the car that I hit!. I can't control the sense of euphoria that I et when I am behind the wheel!. My parents are both abusive toward me, and so being alone in my car makes me feel so free that i don't believe I can hit anyone and no one can hit me!. I also can't stop myself from speeding at least ten miles over the speed limit, even when I'm not in a hurry to be anywhere!. i posted this question in mental illness because I was diagnosed with major depression over a year ago and it seemed to go away this past august, to be replaced by intense energy!.!.!. I don't know what is wrong!. My psychiatrist doesn't think I have bipolar disorder, but I really think I do!. Is there anything else that it could possibly be!? Or is this behavior caused by a manic episode!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

From what I can figure out, it's seems you crave the "adrenaline rush"!.

Don't take this the wrong way, I don't mean to be judgmental but I'm only trying to help you figure out what could be the cause of your actions!.!.!.I'm not a psychologist nor a psychiatrist but, my first impression is that you might be an "adrenaline junkie" (addict)!. And allot of people aren't even aware that they "suffer" from an addiction to adrenaline!.!.!.

From the little I know about you (that you have mentioned), it looks like you have had very stressful/traumatic events in your life (and are still in an abusive situation with your parents)!. So it could be a possibility that you (subconsciously) found relief in "getting" a rush of adrenaline!. Especialy since you say that you feel like you are in an euphoric mood when doing so!.

When faced with stressful situations, some people resort to an adrenaline rush to ease their mind because, the adrenaline rush secrets hormones (epinephrine) in your body and acts as a neurotransmitter!. It plays a central role in the stress reaction (the physiological response to conditions that threaten the physical integrity of the body!.)

I search online and found a web site that explained the adrenaline addiction more in details!. They also have a test online you can take to see if that is your case!. I added the two web sites below in hope that it will help you!.!.!.

If you believe to have this "affliction", then I would suggest you seek therapy and talk things out with a specialist in order to find good ways of managing/dealing with stressful situations/events!. Because from what I've learned about "adrenaline junkies", it is a behavioral habbit and not a mental illness!. So no medication would help you in this situation, only cognitive therapy will help you by "reprogramming" your mind/behavior!.

I hope I've helped,
Good luck ;)

I had this problem-now I picture the possibility of a baby being in the other car!. Imagine killing a baby!?! Or killing anyone for that matter!. That cured me!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are looking for excuses!. Take control, you are the only one in control of your actions!.

Don't blame everything on your parents!. Two separate issues!. If your parents are abusive, get help!. There are social services available as a last resort!.

Take responsibility for yourself, no more excuses!.

*** Based on your response at the bottom of the question, you have some denial issues also!. You need to step up and assume some responsibility for yourself!. You are full of all types of excuses for your own actions!. Take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself some tough questions, and give yourself straight answers!. Truth often times hurts!

If you are genuinely concerned, seek professionsl help, instead of a plaything like yahoo answers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
