How To Cure Social Anxiety?!
Question: How To Cure Social Anxiety!?
I'm 14 years old and I think I have Social Anxiety!.
I first realised this whilst reading the symptons of it on the internet!.
I have allways been a very nervous, not confident and shy kind of guy!.
I have every symptom out there I think e!.g butterflies in stomach (which I get all the time), chest pains, wobbly knees etc etc etc!.
I just wish I was like the life off every party and a much more confident type of guy!.
Should i see my GP and hopefuly get some sort of drug to help my problem!?
Has anyone else had this before and how did you treat it!?
Please help, thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.

working with a therapist/psychiatrist and meds are your best bets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Dude, drugs are not the first answer for any mental health issue!. Ask about massage, acupuncture, talk therapy and even eeg biofeedback (neurofeedback)!. You really do need to talk to a guidance counsellor or doctor first!. If they recommend meds first ask your parents to take you to another doctor for a second opinion!. Then, ask to see a psychologist or a psychiatrist before you let them put you on meds!. Try to work your way through it and only accept meds if an EEG reading on you head indicates that is your best choice and only option!.
As a person who was shy and insecure as a teen, who grew into the life of the party kind of person, I would also recommend you fall somewhere in between!. The life of the party guys like I was, usually get last pick of the ladies!.!.!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you lack self confidence, then you are probably a hypochondriac also!. I doubt that drugs overcome normal shyness
If you are shy, then practice talking to random strangers, like the guy or girl behind the serving line or the cash register at the cafeteria (ask her how her day is going, or make a joke), or other random people eating or standing in line at the cafeteria, at the bus stop, etc!. You will soon see that talking to strangers is no big deal, and you will get used to approaching strangers!.
You can also sit down in your spare time with a piece of paper, write down the best and the worst that could happen when you are talking to a stranger, and write down some good comebacks, so you aren't afraid of the unknown, or looking embarrassed!. For example, if someone is being rude, say, "I'm sorry that your self esteem is so low that you need to act immature & be rude to random strangers"!. Or perhaps something more simple and easier to remember!. Being mentally prepared will make you feel confident that you can handle any situation!. Just don't act angry or upset, no mater what happens!. Always be calm, as if their opinion of you didn't matter -- because it doesn't!. The opinion of just one stranger, does not make you who you are!. Oh, and anticipate that the majority of people WILL like you, and you will smile and give off positive energy that will make it come true, because people usually react well to positive people!. If someone reacts rudely, remember it had nothing to do with you; they were just in a bad mood, so don't take it personally!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
