Have anxiety, panic and depression... and now i'm going on a plane for 16 ho!


Question: Have anxiety, panic and depression!.!.!. and now i'm going on a plane for 16 hours! Advice!?
I'm flying 8 hours, then a 5 hour stop over, then another 8 hours!. I'm so nervous about this!. Lately my anxiety, etc has been better, but i'm still so scared that i'm going to end up going crazy on the plane and have a nervous breakdown or something on the flight!. Even though i've flown a LOT in the past, it was never when i've felt this fragile!. And flying scares me too, which doesn't help!. Having to be stuck in a tiny seat with about a hundred people on something that definately wont stop for a few hours isn't very reassuring!. I'm taking what I hope is enough to distract me - 2 iPods, enough books to make my back break from carrying the load, travel games, and a journal!. But what if I still can't control my anxiety!? Has anyone else been in a similar situation before!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just before you get on the plane, down about 3 tylenol PM's!. You can do the same on your second 8 hour flight (except maybe only 2 tylenol PM's)!. Spend the 5 hour layover reading, listening to music, etc!. If the tylenol doesn't knock you out, at least you will be in a state of drowsiness, which will make you less aware of the fact that you are in that environment!.

Last time I was on a flight like that They had tv monitors in each headrest and you could watch a variety of movies and tv shows!. It wasn't that bad!. I'm claustrophobic too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Like above the tylenols should do with the ipods- just make sure the volume is way up so you don't notice your surroundings!. what also works is ask for a cold water during the flight!. i've done this and drinking it makes me fell so much better i dont know whyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Discus the trip and all you have told us, with your mental health doctor!. He or she should be able to give you a medication for the sole purpose of the flight!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take something that you can squeeze (stress ball), they help alot!. Also ask your doctor for something like Xanax to take 1/2 before your flight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
