I tried medication for it!. MEDICATION DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR OR MAKE YOU MORE SOCIAL!. IT JUST MAKES YOU NOT CARE AS MUCH AND FRET OVER IT AND TAKES AWAY PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS!. If anything, I became less social while medicated and so i quit taking it!. I suggest u start forcing yourself into social situations even if you don't want to!. Its truly terrifying at first, but the only real way to overcome it is through just sucking it up and meeting people even if you don't have much to say, even if you embarrass yourself!. You will find that many people have the same fears as you and you'll start to become more comfortable in social situations!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. Personally through my life experiences of having the same problem medication doesn't work at all! I remember i took a 2 week prescription and didn't feel any different, in-fact i just ended up with a bunch of side-effects that made me feel ill!.

To overcome social anxiety, nervousness or shyness your best bet would be to gain more self esteem and to help build your confidence!. There are many courses out there you can take!.

No, I have social anxiety without agoraphobia and I do not take medications, but I have improved greatly in the past few years!.
It helps to talk to someone about it (I had a counselor for a few months) and really just practice! Practice talking to people, make yourself do it and it becomes easier through time!. It takes a while, I've been making this effort for years but people aren't even aware of my anxiety and I'm a lot happier now!.

talk to people, atleast three people you dont know at all start a conversation and have a good time!. everyday or if not that talk to everyone you meet and try to get a good conversation try to meet people!. its only so you can get in the habit of losing the anxiety!. I had it trust me it worked so I know it will work for you!.

Like any mental disorder, social anxiety is a chemical imbalance in the brain!.
Medication will level this out!.
I used to be very shy and getting in front of people in talking was a huge fear for me!. I diagnosed myself with social anxiety and saw my doctor!. He procscribed some meds to me!.
They helped a ton!.
Im the life of every party now!.
You may be able to over come it by just going out and doing whatever you are afraid of, however this can be very hard for a person with social anxiety!.
My advice would be to think this way:
Be confident about yourself!. Think you are the best mother ------ in the world!. Make people laugh!. That will help you relax!.
If it comes to the point where you have to alternate your lifestyle!. go see your doctor!.
There is no need to have to live like that!.

the only way is too just get out there and do it!. take small steps at a time!. don't put yourself on a drug, they can make you more crazy!. go to a church and practice talking with the people who are friendly!. you have the fear of being judged!. but only god can Truly judge you!. i personally have many family members that have the same problems!. you have crawled in a shell that satan has made for you!.!.!.!.!.!.!.get out!.

It is not necessary!. The best thing you can do is just put yourself out there!. Do the things that scare you the most!. You will eventually realize it's not as huge of a deal and you'll get over it!. It takes time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
