Admitting yourself into the hospital?!

Question: Admitting yourself into the hospital!?
Is it better to admit yourself into a hospital if you're suicidal instead of attempting suicide and getting put in the hospital!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Actually, only a physician can admit you to a hospital!. I think you're referring to whether you should go voluntarily or not!. If you do, you avoid the "legal" process that goes along with an involuntary commitment!. Whether or not it is better depends on what you mean!. With a voluntary admission, you have the right to leave (even if against medical advice unless you are an immediate risk to self or others), but there's the possibility you might not be really ready to go!. On the other hand, if you're committed, you will always have that in your medical record!. There are benefits to each, and negatives to each!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes,you should call or go to your local hospital if you are suicidal,if the doctors feel you are a danger to yourself or others they will place you on a "51/50" which is a 3 day hold where the doctors will Monitor you and direct you to what ever treatment they feel will help you Meds,counseling,etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's better to go to the ER and tell them you are having suicidal thoughts!. They will keep in you a mental hospital for atleast 3 days!. It's really not so bad!. I've been to one once!. Last November!. It really helped me out!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
