interesting to come across your question as im soon going to face this,i have a care co-ordinater-he is a social worker who i see at my community mental health team, and ive been seeing him weekly for 5 months and get on well with him,but as now ive started intensive pschotherapy i have to leave this team where my pschiatrist is also at and i only then see the therapists at my theraphy, this is apperently what happens! i was given notice and its going to be done slowly but im dreading it my care co-ordinater has helped me so much and i can also call him if i have any problems,it seems so unfair that i cant have help from both teams when there both part of the nhs !?!? i think you have every right to question it! ask why! you have a right to know, unless they feel it would somehow upset you!.!.!. when i had counselling before for 3 years and i had to say bye it was very hard and i cried- even the counsellor did,the pain goes ,it just takes time ,and as long as your happy with the person you see next it will be ok !Www@Answer-Health@Com

If that person you were seeing is still working as a mental health worker, and your doc just thinks you shouldn't see them anymore, there is probably a good reason!. I would ask your psychiatrist why they think you shouldn't see that person anymore!. There could be some inside rumor the doc heard and won't repeat, though, or some other professional thing they won't share, but if you have seen that doc awhile, they are probably looking out for you!. Or maybe somehting about your case is stressing that worker out, pushing their buttons (many workers have had difficult lives too, and that is why they went into mental health) and they don't want to share that personal information!.

There could be any number of reasons!. It is awful, and I'm sorry to hear that happened to you!. My worker quit 6 months ago, and I'm not really comfortable with the new one!. And I've had a couple of psychiatrists I had a great rapport with who left the profession!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work in mental health and the turnover for clients is SO often and so unfair!.

I dont know why they do that, but they also do it a lot at the welfare office and at child protective services!.

I totally understand that rebuilding that trust again with a new worker would be frustrating and difficult, because you never know when, or if it will happen again!.

Its one of the misfortunes of the mental health system, there's such a high turn over of professionals that its unfortunate, because the client, and the treatment plans are what suffer most!.

Sorry to hear about your bad luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well I would certainly ask why you can not see your Dr anymore!. Get the facts maybe this Dr did something very wrong or else they may have found out this Dr wasn't following what is best I don't know I would ask though!. Then I would ask if you can pick your own new Dr!. Someone you feel might understand your issues the best!. I would feel upset about it but you have to accept in life that there are things we can not change and things we can change!. and we have to know the difference and accept what we can not change!. what we don't have any control over!. Hopes this helps you a little anyways!. Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i would feel terrified and lost!. so hopelessly lost!. i find it hard to trust people enough to talk to them face to face!. i would be seriously upset and angry as well!.

has this just happened to you!? if so, i can't believe they'd do that! how can they seriously think that it'll help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wouldn't care the slightest!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
