What do you do about Anxiety?!


Question: What do you do about Anxiety!?
What do you or a loved one do to treat your/their anxiety!? My husband just figured out that this is what he has been battling with for years and not just stress!. He has all the classic symptoms(racing heart, nausea etc!.) HIs family has a history of mental illness ie!.!.!.depression, manic depression, schizophrenia and possible others!. We are looking for a natural way to help him deal with this!. Drugs are out of the question!. Any suggestions would be helpful!. Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Drugs is how I deal with it, klonopin gotta love it!. But that is only a temporary fix and my anxiety is much more severe to the point of agoraphobia!. But when I was younger and dealing with my anxiety when it wasn't so extreme I did the breathing exercises!.!.!.!. breathe in 1!.!.!.2!.!.!.3!.!.!. breathe out 1!.!.!.2!.!.!.3!.!.!. etc!. Keeping your mind occupied on something else helps, even if he hums his favorite song!. Or you can try to analyze the situation!. What triggered the onset of anxiety!? Try to make the reason you scared sound silly to yourself!. For example, your standing in line at a grocery store and all of a sudden your heart starts racing your palms get sweaty and you start to think "I gotta get home!!" Start to focus on breathing to soothe the initial anxiety!. Once you are settled enough to actually carry on a train of thought think to yourself "Why am I anxious!?" start to dumb down the situation "Im perfectly fine, im in a safe place!." and continue these types of thoughts until the anxiety passes!. Remember your anxiety will usually last only 15 minutes, your whole purpose of these practices is to make sure you don't have a panic attack!. Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!

I have bipolar, ADHD, anxiety and I've tried every natural thing out there!. I spent over 2 years doing natural things and going to professionals for the natural way out!. After losing my job and almost losing my wife and kids, I decided that it was time to see my doctor and get medication!. It's been 15 years and I'm 97% better and dealing with life and my health much better!. The natural way I was only functioning at 4% if that!. I was just a body walking around that's it!. I've checked again last week into the natural stuff and I was told that if they didn't work before more then likely they won't work now!. I've been going to support group meetings for bipolar and I brought up the natural way and all 45 people there said no it does not work!.

try homepathy!. its not drugs, all herbal and stuff you'd find in forests etc etc etc!.
also, deep breathes, counting, lying down, one hand on head one on chest or stomach!. imagen hot/cool vibes (for want of a better word) going through his hand to whatever is swirling around, banging, or racing out of control!. picture in your head everything slowing down and calming!.

Anxiety on top of the symptoms of depression, etc!. I sure
recommend a therapist or Dr and explain all this to the Dr!.

my friend suffered from this and she went to therapy and that helped alot!,she also slept with lavender oil on her pillow and put on her wrists in the day time
