Does anyone else suffer from this fear?!

Question: Does anyone else suffer from this fear!?
My whole life I have suffered fear in the night and for a while it went away and now it seems to be back in full force!. I feel like if I go to sleep someone might break in and kill me or whatever so then I cant sleep because I feel like I need to be aware and every little noise terrifies me!. I know its stupid and I'm not worried in the day!. I cant control it and I shake I'm so scared but once about 4 or 5 in the morning comes around I feel safe!. I know I have to control it because my actions are keeping my partner awake who has to get up at 6:30 for work!. I've been to doctors before but they only put me on sleeping pills or anti-anxiety pills rather than trying to get to the underlying problem!. Does anyone have advice or suffer in a similar way!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is good of you to realize that there is an underlying problem here!. Have you tried regression therapy!? Meaning have you spoken to someone who can try and get to the root of this fear and when and where this all started!? I think that is what needs to happen!. In the mean time if you have a house alarm you can set it before you go to sleep!. You have a partner in the house and if someone breaks in that's another person they have to deal with!. If it makes you feel any better know that crooks like the path of least resistance and they tend to break into houses they know are empty!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This has got to go back to your childhood or even infancy!. If you have no conscious memory of what must have happened, look into having some Hypnotherapy!. Once you are regressed and find the cause, it can be treated!.
I am an insomniac, in my 40's- I guess it's just the change of life coming: Menopausal symptoms!.
But you need to get to the root of this!.
I wonder if there is some sort of self hypnosis you can learn!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there is nothing I can say to help you other than I also suffer from paranoia and it is tough, but try to remember that it is only in your head, in the mean time you can try to secure your house a little, somewhat till you feel a little safer, put an alarm or something like that so that you know if someone breaks in it will sound and you will wake and they will run away!. Yeah I had this before in about 5th grade, but its because I moved to my own room and there was a window for once!. Your partner should comfort you, he knows about this right!. Just try to ignore it, my sister used to not be able to sleep and get really bad stomach aches my mom told her happy thoughts so she could go to sleep 'happy' or feeling safe!. Maybe you should try this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know how you feel! I feel the same way!. At night, I lock my doors for security, and for extra security I have two dogs!. Just try and relax before you to bed and think of this, "I am a normal person, no one will harm!." Then think of something fun before you go to bed, that always helps me!. Like I think about what if I went on a holiday and the fun of everything, before I know it, my alarm clock wakes me up in the morning :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

o wow how sad =( i get like that every now and then, not every night tho!.!.!.maybe if you try sleeping w a tv on (that helps me) and just make sure you check your locks every night before you go to bed!.!.!.sometimes when i get like that i sleep with a knife near by LOL i know thats a little extreme but it makes me feel better lol good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i used to have that fear when i was young so i would sleep with the tv on i still do get scared sometimes because i think about how bad the world is and how everyday theres robberies, people being murdered for nothing and sick rapists but if u get an alarm system or a watch dog that might help u feel less scared or maybe some security bars and always make sure your windows and doors are locked dont worry your not alone theres alot of people with fear of the nightWww@Answer-Health@Com

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN!
I have the same problem and sometimes, even as I go to to sleep, I suffer from sleep paralysis and I have extreme paranoia!. My best solution to help this is to tell my boyfriend to hug me tight!.

Since you have a partner, let him/her know that it's bothering you and I feel alot more protected if he just hugs me!. It just puts my mind at ease knowing that I have this protection =) Www@Answer-Health@Com

ive had this problem too!. its from too many scary situations or movies from childhood!. a simple remedy is to leave the tv on but at a low volume or even mute while u try to go to sleep!. distracts your brain from tryin to pick out strange noises that are just creeks in the house!. and if anything stay close to ur partner knowin they'll protect you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
