The most important thing is to do it very slowly and gradually, splitting tablets if you have to, getting them prescribed in lower dosages if possible, some people find that they can gradually decrease the dose and the most difficult part is getting off them altogether, in which case taking a low dose alternate days for a while before dropping altogether can work pretty well!. Go on the advice of your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES! My doc is currently weaning me off of Wellburtin XL 300mg daily, and Lexapro 10mg daily, which I had been taking for 6 years!. My psychiatrist suggested that I take a supplement called "5-HTP" (5-Hydroxytryptophan) which is an amino acid that naturally increases the brain chemical "serotonin" (which is the most common cause of depression on a chemical level)!.

Before this whole 'process' began I was warned about the severity and discomfort of antidepressant withdrawal!. It can be an extremely nasty experience!. But I've been off ALL med's for 3 weeks and I feel pretty damn good! I would like to believe that the 5-HTP is helping, but I can't say for sure!. Being on antidepressants for 6 years is pretty hard core, and if ANYONE was going to have withdrawal symptoms it would be someone like me!.!.!. and I have no major complaints so far!.

Give it a try! I hope it works for you! And I hope it continues to work for me :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you had so many symptoms when you took yourself off medication because your not a doctor and dont know how to properly ween yourself off the medication!. Trust your doctor he will lower the dosages properly to where you will have little to no side effects unlike less time!. I wouldn't suggest taking any supplements besides vitamins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Being on anti-depressants is just like being on any addictive drug!. You cannot stop taking it suddenly!. You need to ask your doctor about it but it has to be a very slow process or you will gothrough veryy toughwithdrawals!.Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
