Have you ever noticed anyone on antidepressants that?!

Question: Have you ever noticed anyone on antidepressants that!?
there personality is totally different than when they were not on it!. Its like a i dont care and robotic type!. I tell my daughter all the time she does not need them she says she does because she does not get along with the people at work and she has hormone problems which i say causes her to be in a bad mood she says she still feels sad even though she is on the antidepressant and its doubled in strength now!. what do you think!.AWww@Answer-Health@Com

If someone is in a "I don't care" and "robotic" frame of mind, they're taking too heavy of a dose!.

I take anti-depressants (Wellbutrin SR and Lexapro), for depression, and I feel a lot more alert than before I began taking them!. Before, I was having a lot of trouble sleeping and concentrating - besides other things!. After I began the medication (and counseling) I feel a lot better and mentally sharp and aware!.

If your daughter is on an anti-depressant that isn't working for her, it may not be helping - and could actually be making her situation worse!. Only a psychiatrist can make that determination!. There are a lot of different anti-depressants available, and no two people react the same to medication!.

Hiya Tiger,

A single antidepressant tablet makes a depressed person see the world in a more positive light just four hours after swallowing it!. Antidepressants elevate mood, which in turn leads to a depressed person becoming more positive and interpreting things that happen to them in a positive way so of course their mood can change when coming off the medication!.

I think she's on the wrong medication!. See if you can get her to her doctor and explain how she acts!. When on Anti-depressants you shouldn't be like a robot!. She should be acting like or close to her pre-depression self!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's basically the point of antidepressants!. They are not happy pills!. They don't make you feel great!. They make you feel nearly nothing!. When I took them, I wasn't even able to feel my anger or my sadness or my anxiety!. I, of course, enjoyed my happiness more when these things weren't getting in the way, but I felt that it was wrong and I didn't want to feel so mechanical and robotic!. But, even though it's strange to be changed that way, it really makes things so much more tolerable!. If she's having such a hard time at work and with her hormonal imbalances, then you can at least feel better knowing the antidepressants are helping her immensely!. I'm not taking them any more but I'm glad I did at the time I needed them!. It helped me get past a certain point that made me feel stronger in not having to go down that dark road again!. I also coupled that with therapy which helped even more!. Your daughter really should consider doing that, as well, in order to solve her work problems so she'll be able to come off her medicine as soon as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
