Is there a cure for depression?!


Question: Is there a cure for depression!?
I currently am seeing 2 psychologists and used to be on meds!. For an incident I am now not allowed to take them anymore!. It seems like I'm happy at times but most of the time I get really down and can't seem to be happy!. Any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The so called cure is you learning to deal with it in different ways!. I think you need to focua on what's good in your life and everytime you have other thoughts try writing them in a diary and then forgetting them!. Think of the diary like a shopping list, once wrote down you dont need to think of tehm again until you read it!.!.!. so over time you will teach yourself that only positive thoughts are needed in your mind on a daily basis!. Try to understand yourself, it soulds weird but take a small amount of time a day to ask yourself these quaestions, what makes me feel like this!? can I change it!? if so how!? if not ask for help from someone close to you!. Realise that YOU are the only person who can help yourself, counellors etc only help by listening and repeating your problems to you in a different mannor to make you understand, they don't tell you the answer, you have the answer!. Children!. I have learned that there are too things that will brighten even the most unhappy people!. If you have friends or family with children under that age of 4, just to be around them will make you laugh and smile!. The things they do like sliding on the floor or giggling when something is funny is the joy I look forward to everyday!. Even when things are at the worst!. Another suggestion, remeber the things you used to do when you were young that made you happy like snowball fights or watching old cartoons on a saturday morning!. You need to keep seeing your psychologists and find the reason why you have depression whether it was something that happened in your childhood or other reasons!. Once you know why you can work on making that better which in the long term will make you feel happier!. Don't worry it is normal to have down days even people who aren't mentally ill have down days!. Good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

of course theres a cure for the depression!!.!. I admit that sometimes i have those kind of feelings!.!. but i learned how to fight them back!.
Is easy, just be possitive and think about all the good things in ur life, keep ur mind fresh, look at the sky and breathe deeply!.!. then, go and find something to do, such as play tennis, go to shopping, watch a movie, etc!.
But the most important thing is to talk to someone u really trust so u can let ur feelings out!.

No, unfortunately there is no cure for depression, but there are some ways to naturally help yourself!. Keeping active and being social, eating and sleeping right work sometimes!. I hope this helps!.!.!.at least that is what my Psych says!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nope !.!.!. But things you can do for short spurts of hapiness in between the depreession times!.!.like exercise, beach, walking, riding a bike !.!.!.!.do the fun things you enjoyed as a kid and will give you some relief!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, the cure for anything is to eliminate the source!. Question is, what's the source!? No one here can answer that for you!. Unfortunately, just because you were on meds at one point doesn't mean much to me, either!. Diagnosing and treating depression can reach witch doctor levels of incompetence, so I won't pretend to be an expert nor trust anyone who says s/he is!.

The source of my depression was conditional!. I had just been laid off, I was in debt; my situation was just very very crappy!. When I got a job and paid my dues, my outlook on life got a lot better!.

Is your stress level high!? Bad (i!.e!., no) friends, crappy job, rough/abusive relationship, family tensions!. !. !. if you're overall in a bad situation, any pills a doc gives you will wind up being worse than the disease!. This will require you to take a hard, honest look at everything in your life and decide if you should be happy!. If it's circumstantial, the best thing to do is grind through it and try not to lose hope!. One thing I find theraputic is to research stories like Earnest Shackleton's doomed voyage!. These are amazing survival stories that remind me that the hardships I've been through are nothing compared to what others were able to take -- and overcome!

On the other hand, depression also comes from genetics, trauma or substance abuse!. In this case, the cause is more clear but the cure is arguably tougher!. Genetics will require medication to control (though I daresay it's vastly overdiagnosed); trauma will require therapy and reliable, trustworthy support; substance abuse will require kicking the habit -- which is never a simple matter!.

Otherwise, you could just be having an existential/nihilistic moment!. You need a means of directing your energy and releasing your frustration!. Hobbies like volunteering can help!.

All that said, you said you "get really down" but don't seem to be exactly suicidal!. These are tough times so you're in good company!. Unfortunately, we can offer suggestions but you're not going to get answers here!. I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly what was wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
