I've been battling heroin addiction for almost two years now and I started taking Subutex (same as Suboxone minus the opiate blocker) for about 2 months ago!. I would highly, highly, highly recommend you looking into Suboxone/Subutex rather than Methadone!. The thing that is so great about Subutex for me is that for one thing it takes the cravings and aches away and for another thing it in no way interferes with my everyday life!. I am totally functional (whereas when I've used methadone I could not stay awake) and I have a prescription so I can just take my meds at my house and not have to go to a clinic everyday!. I know you really didn't ask about all that but I've been in your situation and I know what hell it is trying to get off opiates and more importantly stay off and for me Subutex has been the only thing that has been any help!. You do not need insurance for Suboxone or Methadone, however Suboxone/Subutex is quite pricey without insurance!. But it probably would be no more than what you were paying for dope!. I'm sorry if I didn't really help answer your questions but I would really look into getting an appointment with a doctor in your area that can prescribe Subutex/Suboxone!. I know it's beyond hard and I hope you're able to get on Methadone or Suboxone/Subutex, or anything else that may help you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
