Question: My son and i probably both have some sort of mental health disorder (it runs my family) but !.!.!.!?
i don't work, we have no health insurance and his father (our family's sole provider) refuses to give us money so we can go see a psychiatrist!. Our house is full of screaming, and my son (8) is out of control!. I tried going to social services for help, but they told me that his income counts as mine, as we have a child together (though we are not married) and he makes too much money to qualify for help!. His father has full custody of him even though i live here, due to my past problems with drug addiction (I've been clean almost 2 years)!. Social services told me they could help me only if i was no longer living here (they basically said to get kicked out and go to a homeless shelter if i have noone else to stay with, which i don't)!. So basically no help there!. i have no other family to help either, as they all ran for the hills when i was using drugs and still won't talk to me!.
I guess what I'm asking is if anyone knows if there is any other way my son and i could get help!? or is leaving my family and becoming "homeless" my only option!? I am in New Jersey if that helps !.!.!.

I can sort of understand him being a jerk to you, but his son!? Why won't he get his son help!? What a jerk!.
There are places that will provide free service to you if you have history of addiction!. Some places help children for free as well or work on a sliding scale fee!. Is there state insurance you can apply for!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, this is just a suggestion!. I'm not sure if anything will come of it!. But look in the phone book under area hospitals!. Call them to see if they operate mental health clinics that offer free or nominal fee services!. If they don't, ask them if they know of any!. Maybe even social services will know of some!.
