Losing a friend because of my drinking - how do I fix this?!

Question: Losing a friend because of my drinking - how do I fix this!?
So I have a friend, or rather had a friend and we were really really close!. We went to highschool together and now we're in the same college and everything - different majors!. Anyway, a few weeks ago, this friend of mine invited all our HS friends just to catch up and all!. Anyway, everybody sort of cancelled and gave lame excuses!. So I, thinking that the whole event would be cancelled, told my friend that I couldnt make it because I had something else to do!. In reality I had nothing else to do, I just wanted to stay home and get drunk - yes I'm aware this is a problem and is probably the reason for this!. Anyway the whole thing escalated and she was all angry for me not giving her an excuse blah blah!. I didn't understand why she was so pissed off when I always show up to everything else she plans!. So we argued, I apologized, she admitted she she over reacted and then we just sort of stopped talking!. And I don' know what to do, I want our friendship back and I dont know what to say!. Even if we do become friends again, I dont think we'll ever be the same!. I know shes always told me everything about her and now she knows I'm keeping things from her!. But seriously, how would I go about telling someone I'm practically an alcoholic!. Everyone would look at me differently!. And this friend of mine, she doesnt drink, so I don't know what she'd say!.

I know I've asked this already, I'd just like somemore opinionsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
maybe its a good idea for her to see this question!.!.!. that might explain to her better than you couldWww@Answer-Health@Com

The first question to address is: are you an alcoholic!? Some people are genetically disposed to alcoholism, and for such people there is no alternative to complete abstinence!. There are various support and treatment programs that can be helpful; one such is Schick-Shadel Hospital in Seattle!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

She probably already knows, or suspects!. It's very hard to keep alcoholism secret, no matter how slick you think you are!. My advice: take care of yourSELF first; then, if appropriate, make amends to your friend!.
One day at a time !.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
