Question: I feel numb and empty after meeting my ex for the first time!.!?
Me and my ex just had lunch today for the first time in 9 months that I was out of town!. It was naturally awkward as one could expect but we were trying our best to make it most casual and friendliest possible!. We talked for 2 hours and things got increasingly awkward to the point that I said goodbye and he didn't say it back when we parted!. Neither of us brought up the past!. The thing is that I know I'm over him that way even though I still care for him a lot!. His friendship means a lot to me, much more than I want to admit!. I don't know why because I never wanted to befriend any other ex's before!. My friend suggested that maybe it's because he was the one who was the closest to me in many many years!. So that's why I'm sad that our friendship wouldn't work, it feels like I've lost my best friend!. I feel empty and hurt because I took his abrupt departure personally!. There is never a correct way to feel!. Feelings are personal and true to each individual!. I can see why you are sad with the way your lunch ended!. Remember that relationships have never failed; they have merely run their course!. To be honest I have never been able to be friends with an ex!. They either still want to be with me or hate me!. You have extended your friendship to him and if he does not want to accept it then he is the one who has lost out!. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt and in time he may come around or you will see that it turned out for the best!. Eat some ice cream and watch your favorite movie!.
