ADD and drugs? I need to focus and study for a longer period of time without los!

Question: ADD and drugs!? I need to focus and study for a longer period of time without losing attention!. !?
Hi,
I haven't been officially diagnosed by a psychologist/psychiatrist but I'm pretty sure that I have some form of ADD or ADHD!. It is evident since I tend to be a bit impulsive and I can't focus on one thing for a prolonged period of time and lose interest in things quickly!. I will see a psychologist to confirm my self-diagnosis eventually!.

My question is, IF I have ADD/ ADHD, what can ADD drugs do for me!? Will it help me focus on school and be less impulsive!?
Adverse side effects!?
Thanks!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was having the same problem for ever it seemed

went to my doctor 2 weeks ago, told him my problem!.

I use to be studying for hours, all the time my mind was going in circles on random subjects, I couldn't focus for more than 10 minutes it seemed!. dropped out of college like 3 separate times over the past 18 years!. got a second change at a new career now, and want to go all in!.

got ridalin 10mg 2x per day!. and i tell you the stuff works!.!. my mind stays on target!.!.

Now i can focus for hours, I feel as if I will be able to live up to my ideal potential in college now!.I think I have had ADHD all my life, but never seeked help until now!.!. I could only imagine where I would be if I would have asked about it much sooner!.

I am less impulsive also!. I use to crutch myself on food all the time when i be unable to focus, now I just eat to fuel myself, and not as an emotional crutch it seems!.

only side effect I've seen that could be a problem is hard time falling asleep, but my doctor prescribed me clonidine also, and that seems to help me fall asleep about 45min to an hour after taking it!.

I did notice dry mouth today when talking a bit, but nothing extreme, might even have been normal, I'll just kick up my water intake!.!.

ps!. I'm 38!. I would say go for it, ask your doctor!.!.

Actually!. I've seen plenty of pediatric patients who no longer had concentration problems after getting adjusted by a chiropractor!. Usually when the C1 vertebra in the neck is misaligned, many concentration, learning, and even behavioral problems can and do occur!. It just may be the answer to avoiding medication all together!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

get diagnosed!. there are lots of things that can help you, but prescribed stuff works best and is relatively safe!.

if you want something now, get some st!. jonh's wort from the store in the supplement section!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

An ex of mine was on Aderol (spelling) and when she took her meds she was very down and unexciting!. She usually didn't take them because she was never herself!. I have ADHD as well, but you learn ways around it (I'm in college [engineering major, which is a major you have to pay attention to!.])

I personally don't take pills for anything since they recently found that IB Profein causes Kidney failure after taking it for a while!. (My take is this, they don't really know what the long term side effects are, they just put it out there!.!.!.I mean IBU profein has been on the market for years!.)

If you just can't find a way to deal with it, then I guess visit your doctor, and yes, it helps you focus and be less impulsive, but expect people to complain that you're not your normal self anymore!.
