Do I have some sort of seasonal depression? ?!

Question: Do I have some sort of seasonal depression!? !?
I have been extremely depressed lately for reasons unknown, and it is making it hard for me to function normally and is putting a strain on my relationship with my man!. I am mostly blaming the weather, because when I see how gloomy and cold it is I just want to lay in bed all day!. Could it be seasonal depression or something of the sort!? Nothing else has really gone wrong lately to make me depressed !.I know my mom has something similar!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It does sound like seasonal depression!. I get it around the winter time!. The lack of sunlight and gloomy weather seems to trigger it!. A doctor once recommended getting a natural light lamp (I think they sell them at Walmart)!. It acts as sunlight for you when the days are shorter and there is a lack of brightness outside!. I just turn my desk lamp on in the evenings!. Its really bright and does seems kind of like sunlight for me!. Other things that have helped are exercise (cardio) and music!. Exercise releases endorphins to make you feel better and music just brightens my mood!. If its too cold for a walk, I will go to the gym or do an exercise DVD!. Hope you feel better!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seasonal depression, often called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), is a depression that occurs each year at the same time, usually starting in fall or winter and ending in spring or early summer!. It is more than just "the winter blues" or "cabin fever!." A rare form of SAD known as "summer depression," begins in late spring or early summer and ends in fall!.
Which doesn't really fit your description of your depression!. You might just have mild depression, see a doctor and see what they can do for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sorry to hear about your problems with depression!. contrary to what the first guy said you cannot just "make yourself un-depressed"; apparently hes never been depressed himself!. this could be seasonal depression, but it really depends on the condition and the kinds of feelings youre having!. try calling a depression hotline or seeing a therapist; i wouldnt be able to diagnose the condition myself over the internet (not to mention i havent graduated from med school yet! :), so seeing someone in person should really help!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
