Help-do I need some sort of help or therapy?!

Question: Help-do I need some sort of help or therapy!?
Ok so ever since I had my son I have become afraid of EVERYTHING! And now-we've just moved to a house out in the country-with no neighbors and its competely dark outside at night!. Its also an old house!. I'm terrified to be here at night!. I wont go outside at night and I freak myself out with the thought of weird stuff going on in my house, although everything seems ok!. What can I do or what kind of help can I seek to help me get over my fear and paranoia!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is this a different living situation than you have had before!? If it is, you are just having a hard time adjusting to the change!.

I think it's fine to go talk to someone about your fears!. I'd also have some changes made to add more lights and so you can feel a little more comfortable!. Also it would help to go meet your closest neighbors so you know who to call if something happens!. This will make you feel more secure and less alone!.

By the way, I grew up in the suburbs with street lights and lots of activity and now live in a small town that is very dark at night and not a lot of neighbors!. For awhile we lived on a ranch with no close neighbors at all!. I'm used to it now and it doesn't bother me!. I actually like it better and feel safer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can definitely relate to being afraid at what you described!. But you don't want to live trap since you chose to live where you live!. Try to overcome that there is probably not much to worry about!. And maybe being a first time mom things can get frightening!. If in time you still freaking out then maybe you should speak to someone just to see!. That will not make you crazy but rather trying to seek help which many people choose not to do and live the rest of their lives miserable and that not what you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, stop watching scary movies!. Second, keep a list of phone numbers you can call in case of an emergency (you should do that anyway)!. Third, don't worry so much!. If you're home alone a lot, find things to do around or outside of the house or even around town!. It should help!. Also, focus more on your child than the "weird stuff" going on!. You'll be ok, really!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your caution is understandable!. There could quite possibly be something out there you don't want to run into!.

Become familiar with the area and the home during the day time!. By making it a routine, you'll become desensitized to the fear!.

Start with something like that, and see if it makes you feel better!. As long as it doesn't persist for too long, I think what you're feeling is pretty normal!. New place, new changes in your life!.!.!.it's probably stressful to some degree!. If you break down simple stress factors, then you can reduce your fears!.

Ok when I'm afraid (I live in the country too) it helps me when I comfort little people!. AKA kids!. When I see them calm, it makes me calm!. Hope this helps! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
