Answers:
yes, depression is hereditary!. That does not mean that your children will definately suffer from depression and it doesn't mean that other people who don't have a family history of it won't suffer from it!. People who do have a history of depression have a much higher liklihood of suffering from it also!. I think that adoption is wonderful though and I wish that more people would adopt!. There are way too many kids out there without a family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Certainly there is a genetic predisposition towards depression (as well as anxiety) that runs in families!.

It's important to remember that depression, as with most chronic illnesses, is multifactorial!. That means it's never just your genes!.

I hope this is help to you, and don't worry, as my mother told me, everything will turn out just fine, I give you the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is hereditary and there is a chance you would pass it on to your children!. But don't let that make you not want to have children (unless you've always wanted to adopt)!. There are ways you can deal with it with your children, it's all about communication and as long as they know you're there for them, it can be dealt with easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know if it's hereditary, but depression can rub off on the young!. If you see your parents being depressed, the chances are, their attitude would effect yours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
