Answers:
Just about everything is genetic!. But it should not stop you from happiness if you are in love!. Talk to a doctor about the odds and even if the odds are high that your offspring might develop problems, you could always adopt or take the chance!. Many people with mental illness live long, fulfilling lives!. Medication can help!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, mental illnesses do run in families!. Schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, bi-polar, and many others can be passed down from parent to child (it sometimes skips a generation)!. With mental illness on both sides, I suggest adopting kids rather than having your own!. Even if you married someone else, any child that you have will have a high risk of mental illness, regardless of your spouse's medical history!. Just because you get married, that doesn't mean you have to have biological children together!. Before getting engaged, I'd talk to a genetic specialist or at least a psychiatrist to find out what the odds are that your kids could suffer a mental illness!. Then you two can decide what to do based on that information!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
