Are these symptoms of psychosis?!

Question: Are these symptoms of psychosis!?
been taking abilify for well over a week i recall hearing voices in my head berating me for my "failures" whenever i would try to sleep!. i would also get "visions" where all my surroundings don't seem quite "real"; not to say that the surroundings become distorted in any way, it's just that i would perceive things differently than normal - as sort of dreamlike!.!. so the life I'm living seems like a dream!? is this a symptom of schizophrenia can anyone here relate to this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
These are symptoms of psychosis but that does not necessarily mean you are schizophrenic!. Psychosis is a symptom of many mental illnesses!. In mania, one can become psychotic!. In deep depressions, one can become psychotic and suffer hallucinations and delusions such as the ones you speak!. Psychosis is a symptom often associated with bipolar disorder as well!. What you described sounds more like Psychotic Depression than schizophrenia to me!. The feeling you described sounds like severe depersonalization also a common symptom of intense depression!. Abilify can help with these intense lows, it also can help if you ever experience intense highs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

holy crap did you hear the voices before or after (on or off) the Abilify!?
Quite often the medical cure is worse than the disease!.
Doesn't sound like psychosis or schizophrenia to me although the information is much too limited!.
The dreamlike state is quite normal!.And wonderful!.Explore it!.
The self-doubts, also normal!.
Interesting that you say you remember hearing voices instead of you hear voices!.
That medicine will kill you and maybe others!
Every one of the "school shooters" was on or just came off anti-depressant drugs!
I am not a doctor and do not intend to give medical advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Abilify is a medication given to counteract psychotic symptoms in schizophrenics, bi-polar patients and others!. It does not cause hallucinations!. The voices you are experiencing may be hallucinations for which the medicine was given you!. Try "abilify" in a Yahoo! web search!. In the many links that come up wikipedia has a good summary of the characteristics (including side effects) of the medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its very possible that it is schizophrenia or something else or even a combination of mental problems!. It is even possibly a reaction to the abilify!. Schizophrenia presents itself in different ways to different ways but a full blown psychotic state you would not be aware of enough to question whether you were or you werent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not recommend you look up Psychosis and other mental disorders, if you do a doctor will say you are over reacting and becoming a hypochondriac!. Keep an eye on the symptoms, its worth telling a doctor these problems, but not ask if you have psychosis,Www@Answer-Health@Com

I urge you to discuss this with the physician who prescribed the medication for you!. If it was not a psychiatrist, ask to be referred to one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

were you given an information sheet with your medicine, these sound like side effects, I would tell the physician that you are experiencing this!.!.You may need a change in your pills or a different dosage!.!.!.Do this right away!.!.good luck!.!.!.
