Here is what I learnt about my anxiety attacks when i was in a prvate psychiatric hospital!.!.!.!.

Got my notes out and here you are;

Reducing Panic

Drink a VERY cold glass of water or suck an ice cube, this hits a nerve at the back of throat which helps to slow the heart down!.

Breathe in and out of a paperbag

Thought stopping
Rubber bands around your wrist and flick when thoughts escalate

Push between your thumb and finger until a dull ache, this should help distract thoughts!.

Positive imagery - think of a positive calm image!.

Focus on the world around you, talk to yourself and describe to yourself everything around in minute detail!.

Correct your body posture

Play a mental game, soduku or a crossword for a few minutes!. This will distract you!.

You should try to see your doctor!. He could give you something that may help!. But as you put above 'not medication' based i guess thats not really an option for you!.

Hope this helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Young Lady,

Tell your parents of what's happening to you; then definitely go to a doctor!. The doctor is an expert in treatment of anxiety or panic attacks!. Start with your family physician, take medications he prescribes (don't listen to other respondents who tell you what med to take; they don't know you; you may develop severe allergies, etc!.)
and also the doctor will be able to teach you breathing techniques that in a few minutes alleviate most of the anxiety!.

Please seek medical help by seeing a doctor!. This forum is really not a good place to sick advice about anxiety/panic attacks!.

A Doctor is though!.

Hope you see a doctor, and follow the advice in alleviating your anxiety!.

Best wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just expose yourself to what you are afraid of as many times as possible!. Also when you begin to feel panic tell yourself that you are stronger than your fear and that you are not going to let it beat you!. Take deep breaths and try to think of your strengths rather than your fear and you will get through it!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to a doctor about it because they will know how best to help you!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
