Did I just go through depression?!

Question: Did I just go through depression!?
A year ago, I ended my friendship with my best friend!. Basically, she was insulting me and beginning to ignore me, and I hated it!.
I used to be really hyper all the time and energetic, but after, I began to get moody and maybe even bipolar (my dad has it) and I rarely went out with any of my other friends!. I became really self conscious and stayed in my house a lot!. I used to have such an easy time making friends and talking with people, but then I began to become anti-social and angry with some people for very immature/stupid things!. I felt like everyone was growing up and living the life while I was stuck by myself!.
It didn't help at all that I felt a need to compete with my older sister, someone who's pretty, popular, athletic, and a high honors student!.

At the moment I feel like I'm doing better, I've semi-whipped the slate with my old best friend and it's like we've just met!. Not friends but not disliking each other either!.

I also have anxiety and a bit hypochondria, if that helps at all!.

Also, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me become more social and make some new friends!. I'm a lot more shy than I used to be, and I'm going to a private school next year and don't want to be the loner!.
Thank you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with R!.A!.M!. This seems to be a normal phase, but don't write it off as normal and ignore it!. People don't get over this period in their life by letting it "work itself out," you have to do things to help yourself!.
Getting out and doing something can help you with lots of things!. Join a club or team to meet people, start exercising regularly (it naturally helps improve your mood,) brush up on your social skills and make small talk with people at the store or bus stop!. Read popular books or watch popular movies so you have things to talk about and some common interests with people!. All kinds of things like that will help you when you get to private school and the exercising will help with any depression you could be experiencing!. Getting your anxiety treated will help as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What you need to do is stop looking for a crutch!. if you want friends you must make the effort!. Don't expect people to run up to you - it doesn't work that way!. This is a big world and the reality is that nobody really cares about your problems - they have too many of their own! Being happy in life means getting to know yourself and finding friends who like you just the way you are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be a loner!. Get involved in an activity or social group!. The friends will come naturally!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think most teenagers go through stages like this!. I know I recently did, but that was because my parents divorced!. Sometimes it feels like the world's against you, everyone else is getting on great and you're stuck in some stupid time warp being left behind and everyone else is lookin down on you!.
Things'll get better!.
Go back to thinking like the old you, the happy, hyper one, and you'll start acting like it, and I'm sure socially things'll get better too :)
Maybe you should get the bipolar tested though, it seems a possibility especially as your dad has it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
