I think it creates low self esteem because you don't know how to process the kinds of feelings that you go through in that kind of experience, especially as a child!. Children tend to think that they did something wrong that led to their experience instead of putting the blame with the person who was the actual cause, where it should belong!. Generally if that escalates to an extreme then the person was never able to talk someone about it before their insecurities escalated!.
My ex-girlfreind was molested when she was young and almost molested when she had too much to drink at a party and as far as I know I was the only one she had ever told about it!. The one that happened earlier in her life had affected her the most because she had never mentioned anything to anyone before she told me!. The later one happened a few years ago and I helped her cope as best as I could, unfortunately I was stationed in Hawaii at the time but I was so very very close to flying back, hunting the guy down and crushing his skull into the pavement!. I think children tend to think that they will get in trouble if they tell their parents and those in in their teens and up (girls and boys) are too afraid of the embarassment that they would feel if their secret got out!. Holding in that kind of abuse puts a pretty large weight onto their shoulders and I think that weight is was causes a persons self-esteem tobecome low!. The best thing to do is to find a professional therapist that can help you sort through your feelings so that you can work on rebuilding your self-esteem!. Everything is strictly confidential, will not get out and really is the best thing to do!. I think that one of the things that person needs to do is to reassure themselves that the abuse was not their fault and that the person who caused them the pain needs to be turned in so that they do not have the opporunity to do it to someone else!. It's very common for a person who has sexually abused someone and gotten away with it to do it again which is why it is so important to turn them in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I went though it and a recent rape!. It has really messed up my life!. I have low self esteem, everything it sucks!. If you need to talk i;m here!. But we got to some how learn how to get control back in are life's again!.

i was kinda sorta molested you can say it was only one time and i said something to my mom!. My stepdad was in the bed with me and was holding my genitals!. Then my boxers went down fast in the middle of the night i flipped!. I was only six and he did even worse to my bestfriend!. I feel so horrible that he had to deal with that on his own it mustve been like a living nightmareWww@Answer-Health@Com
As I understand it happens to one in 3 females!. i'm very sorry for such a thing happening to you!. If you want to forget it, and it is bothering you excessively, i recommend going to a hypnotist, other methods work too, but that one is faster!. You will be in my prayers!.

I was molested and raped by my uncle from the age of 4 to the age of 11 without anyone knowing!.I have always had times where i thought badly about myself and thought i wasn't goo enough!.My self esteem still isn't as good as it should be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yes, by my brother!. as a child, i would wake to find him with his hands in my underwear!. sometimes he said, 'mom told me to make sure you had clean underwear on'!. i often did many detrimental things in an effort to regain control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
