Having constant mood swings?!

Question: Having constant mood swings!?
Ever since my 8th grade year of school I seem to have these swings!. I first it would be every 2 or 3 days or the littlest thing will send me to a very depressed state or would make me happy!. I always thought I was overreacting to things but in my 9th & 10th grade year and especially now in my Junior year they happen frequently like in hours or minutes, when I'm happy I'm fidgety my thoughts are quicker background noise is a lot quieter I write so when I'm doing that my ideas just follow and any attempts to suppress these emotions leave me irritable and depressed and when I'm sad I just feel this weight on my chest I feel as if everyone is saying or going try to do something mean or violent to me, my thoughts are clouded and my brain feels choked I can't think and loose my will to live and my body tenses!.
So I'm lost at the moment and this is getting really bothersome I really appreciate help from someone these symptoms seem familiar to
Other things that might help:
I was born premature
I have cerebral palsy causing my leg muscles to be too tight so that I had to get surgery when I was 3 (I walk with I limp now)
I have muscle spasms all day at random times around the neck area although a bad one will go all up my back
I have no history of health problems in my family
I have no history of diagnosed mental health problems in my family, but my family has a long history of alcohol and substance abuse on both sides
Late in my 9th grade year there was an incident where I threatened someone and got sent to a mental ward for 4 days (the mood swings were really obvious in there since we sat around all day for the most part) but I was afraid they would think I was crazy so I didn't answer any of their questions honestly
I do cry doing my unhappy periods about 50% of the time although its usually not all out heavy tears!.
Again help is appreciated thanks in advance

Sounds like a classic case of some type of anxiety disorder!. Has there been anything major in your life that has brought trauma *other than stated above* upon you!?
I know this because A!. I am a psychology major, and B!. I have depression/GAD *Generalized Anxiety Disorder*
Before I got therapy and medication, I felt the same way you do!. I felt like the world was pressing down on me, and there was nothing I could do!.
With an anxiety disorder, you are constantly worried about unnecessary things!. You feel like every little move you make is WRONG!. The physical symptoms are usually muscle tension, and actual pain in your body!. It's amazing what the stress of your mind can do to your body!.
Also, you might have a case of depression along with it!.

My best advice is to seek out help from a medical professional!. Whether it be your doctor, or a psychologist/psychiatrist!.
Just know that you aren't alone!. I have been there, and I know how at times you feel SO lonely!. Many people go through this, and there is help and an answer!.

My best guess is to talk to a doctor and tell them all of your symptoms!. They might be able to give you something or just help by letting you know how to control it!. I used to get mood swings by taking certain types of medicine!. I don't take them anymore and now I feel fine!. Maybe, if there a type of medicine you are currently taking or have been taking for a while, you could tell your doctor and have them proscribe something else or even check the label or research online to see if mood swings are a side effect!. Good luck and I hope this helped a little!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you think your mood swings are not normal, it may be bi-polar disorder!. My cousin has it!. She will be happy one second, then crying the next, then a minute later, out to kill!. You can never get a hold of whats in her head!.
I'd say look it up or go to a profesional!. If you have signs of depression and bipolar disorder, it could be extreamly serious!.

awww i'm sorry you've been through so much

i know this seems obvious but this is definitely a problem that can be addressed by a psychiatrist or a psychologist

this sounds a bit like a severe case of bi-polar disorder however, and this sounds a bit like how my boyfriend (who has the disorder) was!. It's not your fault, and you can get helpWww@Answer-Health@Com
