Yes!. A person with a Somatization Disorder (such as Hypochondria) will have an unusual preoccupation with physical illness (thinking about being sick more than most people)!.
If someone has OCD, they will have unwanted thoughts about other things besides illness and they will also have ritualized behavior that they have difficulty controlling!.
But the obsessions of OCD and the excessive thoughts about illness in Hypochondria are very similar and anxiety related!.
Both kinds of disorder might be treated with the same type of medication as well!. So I think it's reasonable to say they are similar!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
