Ways to cope with extreme fear of diseases/catching one?!

Question: Ways to cope with extreme fear of diseases/catching one!?
It started out with a bump on my body!. It turned out to be something minor,so I was relieved!. I had went to look up symptoms!.!.and I see all these horrible diseases!.!.ranging from STDS to other scary stuff!.

I was freaked, and eventually made another appointment!.

I had a yeast infection!. Keep in mind I am a 17 year old virgin!. I used my mom's bf's chap stick once and he had a cold sore!.!.and I remember someone telling me that you could catch diseases like that!.

It is ridiculous, and I realize this to a certain extent!. However!.!.I have been on anxiety meidince, and now have an appointment with a psychiatrist in a few weeks due to my severe anxiety over diseases!.

My sister works at a hospital, and she always has these gruesome stories to tell!. Usually it doesn't bother me,but tonight she talked about some kid with an STD due to it being passed on from it's mother!.

I literally freaked out thinking oh my god!.!. I have a disease!.

This has consumed my mind, interfered with my everyday life and basically ruined everything!. I can't go a day without thinking about it,and every ache I get, just makes me think I have a disease!.

I have no one to help me through this at the moment, and I don't know what to do!.

It sounds like you're a hypochondriac and also suffer from anxiety problems!.!.!.!.!.

People with hypochondria are overwhelmingly convinced that even innocuous physical symptoms are an indication that they have a serious disease or illness!. They aren't reassured by doctors or medical tests showing that they're in good health!. Instead, they may turn to doctor after doctor and demand test after test in search of a diagnosis!.

Although people with hypochondria have often been the butt of jokes and ridicule, this severe form of health anxiety is nothing to laugh about!. Hypochondria, also called hypochondriasis, is a serious mental disorder that can sometimes consume the lives of those it affects, even becoming disabling!.

Unfortunately, because hypochondria can be so ingrained, many people won't consider the possibility that they have a mental disorder and steadfastly refuse to seek help from mental health professionals!. But recent research has shown that treatment with psychotherapy can be effective for hypochondria, allowing people to learn to live well with their discomfort, if not completely recover from their health anxiety!.

Hypochondria is often a chronic condition!. It can last for years because it's difficult to overcome deeply ingrained beliefs that you have a physical disease!. Getting treatment earlier may offer better improvement of your symptoms!.

This is a psychological condition called Hypochondria!. Hypochondriacs can often cause themselves to get sick (not with the perceived disease but by stress caused by constantly worrying about disease) which of course doesn't help at all with the fear of getting sick!. Simply realizing that it's "all in your head" is the first step to psychological recovery and hence perceived physical recovery!. With continued therapy you can work through it!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi,

I know exactly how you feel! I used to suffer from yeast infections constantly and no matter how many different creams and pills I tried it always came back :(

I was so embarrassed by it that I couldn't bare to keep going to the doctors!. In the end I found this website on the internet which changed everything and made me feel myself again!. If you want to take a look, it's at http://www!.QuickYeastInfectionCure!.com

Hope it works for u too!Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol im a freak like this too!. every time i see something on me that's not supposed to be there, or that i havent seen, i freak out!. ur JUST LIKE ME, so ur not alone!. i was a sanitary freak last year (and still am to an extent) with hand sanitizer, and i'd clorox my bathroom every day!. i was just so scared!. but heres what i think: if i have something for more than 3 days (my 3 day rule i made up for myself) or if it hurts really bad, i will ask my mom to take me to the doctor!. that is my rule!. you can maybe set a "rule" of when to "freak out"!. its kinda hard to explain, sorry if im confusing you!. but it helped me a lot making rules for myself

best of luck <3!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
