How often do you have to cut to be considered a self injurer?!

Question: How often do you have to cut to be considered a self injurer!?
I stopped cutting a few years ago!. But I have slipped up on a few occasions since!. I no longer cut on a regular basis so I do not consider myself a cutter anymore, but I was wondering how often you guys think someone has to cut ( or self harm in some other way) to be a self injurer!.

I think once you are in control you are no longer a cutter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I think its when you depend on cutting, need it to get through the day!. When you feel like cutting is your lifeline, you're a cutter!. If you can manage to control the urges, you are not a cutter!. One act of self-injury does not define a person as a self injurer, just as someone who drinks once is not an alcoholic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cutting does not solve problems!. If you are cutting at all, you should go get help!. Talk to someone!. A friend!. A therapist!. An adult!. Anyone that will listen to how you feel!.

Cutting yourself once, on purpose, will put you in the category of one who injures oneself!. The frequency does not matter!.

You know, you are in control of your choices and actions all the time!. You can choose to cut, or not to cut!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hun once a cutter always a cutter

try using a rubber band put it around your wrist every time you need to cut and pull it up and let it snap against your skin it still hurts just like cutting only there is no harm!.!.!.

If you hurt yourself in any way intentionally you are a self injurer period!. You must be feeling bad about something and you need to talk to someone!. Maybe a school counselor!? Please get help!.!. Good Luck and God Bless!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Even if it's 1 time it's bad and its self mutilation!.
Self-mutilation is a general term for a variety of forms of intentional self-harm without the wish to die!. Cutting one's skin with razors or knives is the most common pattern of self-mutilation!. Others include biting, hitting, or bruising oneself; picking or pulling at skin or hair; burning oneself with lighted cigarettes, or amputating parts of the body!.

Description

Self-mutilation has become a major public health concern as its incidence appears to have risen since the early 1990s!. One source estimates that 0!.75% of the general American population practices self-mutilation!. The incidence of self-mutilation is highest among teenage females, patients diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and patients diagnosed with one of the dissociative disorders!. Over half of self-mutilators were sexually abused as children, and many also suffer from eating disorders!.

Self-mutilation should not be confused with current fads for tattoos and body piercing!. In some cases, however, it may be difficult to distinguish between an interest in these fads and the first indications of a disorder!.

The relationship of self-mutilation to suicide is still debated even though statistics show that nearly 50% of individuals who injure themselves also attempt suicide at some point in their lives!. Many researchers think that suicide attempts reflect feelings of rejection or hopelessness, while self-mutilation results from feelings of shame or a need to relieve tension!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
