Question: Question to people who take Effexor!? Do you suffer side effects !?
I am on Effexor 75 mg daily!.!. I asked my family physician if this medication can cause weight gain!.!. he told me that yes indeed it can!. I don't suffer from depression but from GAD!.!. he prescribes it to me anyhow!.!. even if I asked him if there was an alternative!.!. does anyone who takes Effexor 75 mg suffer from weight gain and from feeling tired and in my case I guess the weight gain is due to my feeling very sleepy and that for more than 12 hours!.!. so it's not a matter of taking the medication in the evening so I will feel refreshed in the morning!.!. I never feel refreshed at all!. for that reason I don't exercise a lot but the exhaustion is due in my case to the Effexor as I have no anaemia!.!. no lack of iron!.!.!. normal blood pressure!.!. normal cholesterol!. Can anyone who takes the same medication tell me if they suffer any side effects from taking this medication or am I the only one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there, I have been on Effexor for 18 months!.!.!. I was extremely stressed both at work and my personal life!. Effexor helped me cope - but I have found it almost impossible to lose the weight I have gained since starting the course!.!. I too am exhausted!. I am trying to reduce my daily dose (150 mg ) but need a couple of weeks off work to cope with the chemical changes - i tried over a long weekend but I had terrible headaches and kept falling asleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Ask your doc for a different medication that doesn't make u so tired!. A lot of meds can have a side effect of tiredness but different people have different reactions so just cause it makes you tired may not be the same for someone else!. I tried it years ago but wasn't on it long enough for tiredness or weight gain cause I literally could not sleep while on that stuff and it wasn't good at all for me so I got off it after a few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I take 225mg a day every am, and it does not make me tired or gain weigh but I did stop taking the medication once for a week and I got very sick by it!. Before you stop taking this medication please speak with your doctor first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No, when I started taking the drug (at a much higher dose) I had a pain in the bum of side effects, stangely no weight gain though, but I do excersize a lot!.
I felt really sleepy at first, headachy as well!. I now and again seemed to feel drunk and not in control (seriously it wasn't funny) My sleeping was gittery for a short while but soon enough seemed to level itself out and really started working,
As said though everyone is different and if you are concerned it isnt working as it should either go speak to your pharmacist in your locakl chemist for some advice or go speak to your docotr!.
Both are equally qualified to give medical advice so its well worth doing all for the price of a few minuted of your time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
