How can you tell if the voices in your head are you making them up or outside vo!

Question: How can you tell if the voices in your head are you making them up or outside voices!?
what i mean is, how can you tell if they're voices that you should tell someone about!?

since last sunday this man has been following me around; i can sense him there and i know what he is wearing, i can see him in my minds eye, but no one else can!. my therapist says this is because of my anxiety and not psychosis!.

i was asked if i hear voices!. well, then i said no!. but now if i talk to the man he answers back in my head!.
i heard someone else speak last night, she said she was there to protect me and sat in the middle of my room!. i said i didn't believe her and she said she was evil and she was only joking!. but i was kinda tired last night and hadn't had much to eat!. last night this man also said i should cut into the grooves of my wrist, into each groove!. i don't know why but just now i did as he said!.

now is this me making stuff up!? like, since they talked about voices am i subconsciously making the voices pop up in my head!? or should i tell them about it!? i am kinda scared to tell my therapist!.

thanks xWww@Answer-Health@Com

You are not making it up, because the experience is absolutely real to you even if other people don't see and hear the people youare talking about!. You must be absolutely honest with your therapist!. It is better to tell her everything now and deal with this as it happens rather than let it escalate out of control!. Don't be scared to tell her, and if she won't listen then tell someone else ie your doctor who can refer you to a proper psychiatrist for an evaluation!. But please do something about this now, there is no point in being frightened and miserable when you can do something about it now!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry and relax, this is a perfectly normal occurrence, its mostly likely scziophrenia, and it commonly goes away with age

I think the statistic is 1/4 people have this at one stage in their life, at varying degrees!.

You do need to tell your therapist, as this is a managable condition, and it is perfectly harmless if containedWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think it's fairly clear you should go to you doctor!. These sort of experiences (and many of us have had them) can be treated with pills!.

I think it certainly does sound like psychosis, not anxiety!. But psychosis is common and can be treated well!.

Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Therapist, Therapist, are my eyes dreaming or are you having a laugh!.
If you are ill go to a doctor, and he will arrange an interview with a councillor!.
You have too much money and too much time on your hands!.
GET A GRIP!.
Get a job, take some excersise, have sex anything!.

This sounds like it could be a movie! Go get help now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to tell your therapist every thing otherwise they cannot treat you correctlyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tell them, they will help you figure it out ! It sounds like you have a good therapist!. It is possible to have things like this, I mean think of a child with an imaginary friend!. It's hard to discuss it online because anytime people mention 'i hear voices' it just sounds alarming and dramatic, even though it might not be!. You are right that it could just be your sub-concious, your mind playing tricks on you type thing!.

If you are cutting and specifically due to the voices you need to tell the therapist right away!. You might need meds otherwise you can be led to do worse things, even to hurt people you love!. It's not for us to figure out!. Tell the therapist!. If it's due to anxiety the anxiety is obviously bad and needs to be dealt with so you'll need to discuss the 'conversations' anyway so you can get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the voices start telling you to do bad things then i would!. You need to talk to someone though as it is sounds like its worrying you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are having 'visual' hallucinations, and paranoia [someone is following me] plus you 'hear' answers in your head & no one is actually speaking sounds to you, then you are most likely experiencing schizophrenia!.
Has your therapist ever prescribed medication like ZYPREXA for you!? I do not think you are making this up!. You have some very classic symptoms of a mental disorder!. If the therapist you are seeing is taking this lightly, then you need to talk to someone else!
This is something you MUST share with your doctor if you want to get the right kind of help!. They do not know what you are hearing/thinking if you don't describe it to them!. Please do not delay in seeing your doctor, and don't do anything the voices tell you that seems foreign to your sense of good judgment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
