Is This Silly or Stupid? What Do You Think?!

Question: Is This Silly or Stupid!? What Do You Think!?
I am 17yrs old and was recently hospitalized for my eating disorder for about 5 weeks and have since returned home!. Now that I'm home, i find myself in a dilema with school and i have to decide whether i should keep my honors classes and work to catch up or drop down to a regular level!. I take pride in my schoolwork, so im having a really difficult time making this decision!. My mom suggested i call one of my old teachers from a few years ago and ask her opinion!. I feel really close to this teacher, and she is the one who first recognized my eating disorder behaviors when they were first starting!. However, i haven't seen her much in the past year or so even though she lives right down the street!.

So my question is, would it be silly to ask her opinion on what i should do about my classes!? For some reason, i kind of want to talk to her, but im scared!. I don't want to bother her or waste her time, and i really don't know what to say to her!. What's your opinion!?

Thanks

I think it is important that you should try and catch up with your school work and this teacher/friend sounds like the sort of person you should contact!. Partly because you obviously like her and partly because she sounds like she would know exactly what to do!. Don't worry about wasting her time, i'm sure she would be happy to help you even if she was just putting your mind at rest!. You should just ask her if she has any ideas on how you should tackle the problem about school work!. There is seriously nothing to be embarrassed about and hopefully she should come up with a solution!.!.!.

As a former "honour student", I would definately drop down to a regular class!. Being an honour student means nothing later in life!. Try to get your self identity from other interests than just doing well in schoool!. Find balance and enjoy your friends!. Sucess later in life is not because of good grades, but connections you make with people!. Allow yourself the freedom to make mistakes instead of trying to be perfect!. I'm sure you will do fine whatever you decide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your mom has a good idea!. It is always a good thing to seek the advice of someone older, and wiser, and whom you respect!. It is NEVER silly or stupid to ask someone for advice!.
She will probably be flattered and honored that you went to her for help!. The scared thing I can't help with, but I suspect that when you've talked to her you'll wonder why you were so shy in the first place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go ahead and ask!. :) This is a hard choice and it's always good to have other people's opinions - especially if you trust that they will be giving this opinion based on what they believe is best for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go ahead and ask, its the right thing to do!.
sorry about the hospitalizing, eating disorders are nasty things!.!.!.
its NOT silly or stupid to ask about it, it may flatter the teacher that you trust her so much!.

It isn't silly or stupid at all because you're worried however I think if you trusted her enough to once confide in her then she is a good person and sounds understanding!. Also as she is a teacher she is aware of your academic abilities and so would be the best person to offer advice on this particular subject!. I'm sure she would be happy to hear from you and glad that you have confided in her!. Just because you may not have spoken in a while it doesn't change anything so try not to feel awkward!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
