Help! Not just drowsy with Prozac, actually dizzy and 'drunk' feeling?!

Question: Help! Not just drowsy with Prozac, actually dizzy and 'drunk' feeling!?
Been taking it for a month!. It has stopped my panic attacks and makes me feel a little happier but I get really dizzy, blurred vision, and so tired driving that I have to pull over sometimes in the evening!. Should I stop taking it!? Rush to see my doctor!? Or just stay off the road!? Anyone else experience this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
u should be taking it at night just b4 u go to bed, not during the day n certainly not when ur gonna drive! anti-depressants take time to get into ur system completely, they have whats called a long half life!. n they definately cause severe dowsiness so take it at night, n if the symptoms ur having dont go away after 2 weeks, talk to ur doc!. he may need to put u on another drug!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your doctor!. Obviously you are being over dosed!. He'll either reduce the dosage or begin trying other drugs until you find something that does the job w/o those serious side affects - and they are very serious!. You should not be driving at all!. Do not stop the drug without your dr's permission!. Some of these psychiatric drugs require "weaning" off of & some must be taken at night or with food!. I had the same experience with a different drug of the same type!. In my case, it was just a matter of reducing the dosage but also adding another drug!. It took awhile to find the correct dosages of each but they now work for me!. Also, is he aware of any other drugs you might be taking which includes over the counter as well as they do interact with each other!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check out a book called 'The Anti-Depressant Survival Program' by Dr!. Robert Hedaya!. He's apparently had a lot of experience treating people on anti-depressants and helping them to minimize unpleasant side effects and get the most good out of their medication!. Some of it's common-sense stuff, like improvements to diet, exercise and sleep habits!. Some of it's more specific, helping patients discern whether they're on the right meds at the right dose, and taking it at the right time of day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
