Your psychiatrist will ask you numerous questions, some relating your depression while some seemingly off-topic, and based on your responses, he will write-up a diagnosis!. You could be suffering from depression, however, there is a variety of other mental disorders whose symptoms include depression, so as long as you don't over-analyze your answers and answer truthfully, your psychiatrist will be able to help you out in that category!. There's more to psychiatry than your answers, however, the doctor will also observe the way you respond as well, not to mention how you react to each individual question!. Little hints about your overall situation -- your history, what you tell him/her, how you act as well as react -- will give your psychiatrist more information about your overall condition!. Just remember to be yourself, and act/respond the way you normally would to a friend or a family member!. Also, be truthful, the more honest information you give your psychiatrist, the more information he/she will have to evaluate your condition!. All given information is confidential, so don't be afraid to spill your heart out!. Good luck, and hope that helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

typically, they'll ask you about how you're coping at home!. how you handle interpersonal communications and relationships!. how long you have been suffering from depression, are there any other psychiatric risks!? are you a risk to yourself!.!.!.
the assessment lets them know how to treat you!. Good luck with everythingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Simple questions, they may ask you to fill out questionaires!. They may give you situations and ask you on a scale of 1-10 how disturbing they are to you - such as being in a group of large people, etc!.

It's pretty painless but you HAVE TO be 100% honest!. Medication isn't something to mess around with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Psychiatrists usually want to know if your medications are effective or try to see what medication you need to take so they just ask you some questions!. Also they take blood to see the chemical or mineral levels in your blood!. The doctors are usually really nice and understanding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
