Question: Is anyone else on here not able to clear their mind before they go to sleep!?
I have a lot of trouble clearing my mind before I go to sleep!. My job is very stressful at the time, and have way too many things running through it before i sleep!. Anyone else have this problem!? Is there any way to help it besides sleeping pills!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Write down whatever is stressing you out; or what your monkey mind wants to chatter on about!. As each 'thing' pops up, don't fight it; just write it down, and say to yourself 'I'll deal with this tomorrow'!. (whether you do or not is irrelevant; it's to get if off your mind, so you can sleep that matters most!.)

Maybe do something physical to let off steam, then have a hot shower!. Anything stimulative will make it worse - e!.g!. cigarettes, alcohol, etc!.

Yes, and I do the same in every non-focused moment of my day!. I find that 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) an amino acid supplement that helps to increase serotonin in your brain helps me sleep better!. Other sources of tryptophan like warm milk (funny but true), turkey etc!. can boost your serotonin!.
I also recommend reading "The power of now" by Eckhart Tolle!. It teaches techniques for how to 'turn off' that continuous stream from your brain that consumes you night or day!.
And if that fails there is always lorazapam for occasional help!. Sleep is critical!.

I had the exact same problem!. The easiest solution I've found it to meditate for 15 minutes while in bed with the lights off!.

Sounds like namby pamby new age b!.s!. but ti seriously works, you empty your mind, calm your breathing and when you're done you just fall asleep like it's the easiest thing in the world!.

Do a google search for meditation techniques and try it out!. All you want is a simple, calming/breathing techniqueWww@Answer-Health@Com

this is common, ruminating on one idea and going over and over things!.
the best way is not to try and force the thoughts out of your head, just let them be there, dont try and stop yourself thinking!. the more you try and stop yourself thinking the more you will think!.
other methods could be doing something to distract yourself, eg reading a book or meditation!.

Don't watch tv or use the computer before you go to bed!. Read a boring book to put you to sleep!. Meditate before you go to sleep!. The main thing is to stop watching tv or computer or whatever it is you do before you go to sleep!. Like have an hour or3 down time before you go to sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can read a book !.!.!.
Meditate 15 or 20 minutes !.!.!.
Or perhaps you could exercise !.!.!.
