Question: Do you need parental consent to get antidepressants!?
i was wondering if you need parental consent to get prescription antidepressants (ex!. prozac) in maryland if youre a minor!. also, if you know how much they cost, on average, could you tell me that, too!? thanks!

Yeah you would!. The cost depends on your insurance!.
It really couldn't hurt to mention it to your MD though!. They can't tell your parents about you asking b/c of confidentiality laws!. Your MD might be able to refer you to a counselor who can help you if you are feeling depressed!. Anti-depressants on their own don't make you feel 100% better!. They just kind of mute the negative feelings a bit so that you are able to better cope!. The toned down negative feelings don't simply disappear all together!.
You may want to try some of the natural remedies---St!. Johns Wart etc!. Go to a health food store and ask around!. Also check your diet for vitamin and mineral deficiencies that can cause symptoms similar to depression!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe you have to be 18 or have a parent to pick up anything from the pharmacy counter!.
Also if you use your parents insurance the antidepressents might show up on a statement!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im not sure about in the USA!.
But here in australia!. You have to be over 15 and it costs like $2 to buy them if your young and dont have a job!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
