hey!. :)
i can relate to this, and it is a totally horrible feeling! you fear everything, i won't even get my own food at a buffet or anything!
i went to the doctors and they referred me to a mental health unit to see a nurse weekly, as my weight is only 40kilos, due to anxiety with food!.
now, i see a nurse every 2 weeks and have done since january!. my nurse then referred me to a psychiatrist, who examined me and decided it was necessary to prescribe medication!.
i am on sertraline, which are anti depressants, although even though they are being constantly increased, i cant say they are making any difference!.
i'd see a psychologist and work through your problems!.
it's a LONG process, i've been going for a year and gotten nowhere fast, so dont expect miracles overnight and be patient and i'm sure you will get better soon!
good luck !
you can get in touch with any questions !.!. :)

Beta blockers are fine!. They're non addictive and have few side effects!. I take propranolol for my anxiety attacks and they work very well!.

I self medicate with 5htp for my depression and that works far better than the prescribed antidepressants from the doctor!.

All this talk of relaxation exercises and change of diet/lifestyle is all very well, but it won't have a huge effect on acute anxiety states!. All that stuff is a bit wishy washy and generally recommended by people who've never really suffered from anxiety/depression!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aside from a psychiatrist and the many safe medications available therapy may help you get over this!. This is anxiety and antidepressants won't help with anxiety!. This is affecting your life and you can't solve this problem without help!. You may have a social anxiety which therapy can help!. But you need a correct diagnosis to identify exactly what is causing your problems!. I hope you will get help!. You don't have to live like this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should see your doctor!. I suffered terribly with anxiety for a while and actually "fessed" up to my doctor in the end!. I think anti depressants are more of a last resort for the medical profession nowadays!. My doctor referred me to a congnitive behaviour therapist and they are fantastic!. They help you learn about your anxiety and help you look at the problem in a different light and how to cope with it!.

Whatever it is, you should try and get some help soon, otherwise things can easily spiral down hill and you could end up depressed!.

If you do want something to help you feel more relaxed, I have heard that Calms are good!? But make sure you see your doctor, after all you don't want to be taking pills all of your life do you!?

There is nothing to fear but fear itself!. The only way to control those fears is to go through what you are fearing the most!. I use to be deathly afraid to go out by myself, well, one day I made a short trip to the 7-11 by myself and I kept going there until I was not fearful anymore!. I then moved on to bigger things like the grocery store, mall, etc!. Eventually your fear will dissipate!. If your fear is so great, then there are always medications that can help you control it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am on medication for anxiety, so I kind of understand!.!.!. I would just say that if you feel unable to go and see your doctor at least phone them up and arrange to speak with them over the telephone (in the first instance)!. You could try breathing techniques!. I highly recommend that you look up the MIND website and research anxiety!. You will realise you are not alone and it will offer your some alternatives!.
good luck in your journey of feeling betterWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should go to a doctor about this!. No, you do not have to take medication for anxiety - no one can force you to take medicine!. But a good doctor will be able to recommend you to a psychiatrist, who can teach you calming techniques that will help you reduce your anxiety without medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try the non medication options first!. Exercise, alot!. Do deep
breathing exercises!. Meditate!. You could try valerian, a natural alternative as opposed to tranquilizers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can buy herbal pills over the counter in your local pharmacy there cheap and work really well!. you can get all different sorts but the ones i use are called kalms and they work a treatWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you want to rely on meds go for it!. but if you can do something about it, then no to meds!Www@Answer-Health@Com

take meds, meds are great!. you'll feel better and you wont have to worry anymoreWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hey i can relate because i used to be like this!. Everytime i would step out the door i would start to feel so sick!. Medication CAN help but its short-term!. I have been on beta blockers and anti-depressents!. Beta blockers made me feel calm but really dizzy!. I was put on prozac 5 years ago they worked wonders for me then but i was only 10!. Im now 16 and i was put on them 2 weeks ago again for anxiety and i can see a difference!. But as i said medication is short term so i would advise seeing a therapist and when your about to panic!. Sit down take a deep breath in for 3 seconds and 6 seconds out!. Good luck xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
