Question: I need some help with this elderly lady that goes to my church!?
Okay, so she is in her late 50's, I'll call her Jo(people if your name if Jo I'm not making fun I just picked the name at random)!. I think she has a mental problem of some kind!. Today(I'm attempting not to gossip) she asked if they where throwing our pastors wife a baby shower!. My mom said yes, and Jo said well I would really liked to go!. My mom said well I have the invitation let me find it!. I found the invite and made a copy!. Mom said that she would call one of the host and find out if it was okay!. Then Jo goes well is the number in the phone book, my mom said maybe, but I have to find out who is hosting it!. then Jo said Why didn't they announce it at church, mom said that it is a private party they more then likely wanted the pastors friends to be there!. Jo then said at least 4 time that she wanted to go to the party, then at the end of the night she said oh I hope I'm not annoying you!.

From your description, Jo is not mentally ill!. She probably is very lonely and is yearning for contact and connection with others!. She also might feel that being perceived by others as a friend of the pastor and wife brings her a feeling of power, or authority of sorts!. She is being pushy because of her desperate need to be included!. Please treat her w/kindness!.!.!.we never know what others have been through to make them the way they are!. I don't think she's mentally ill!. She just wants to be invited to the shower, but being pushy is not the way to do it!. Good luck with her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
maybe she is angry because of the pastor!.!. in that case!.!. if she has a good relation with him!.!. maybe she wasn't invite by him!.!. your mother shouldn't speak about the topic!.!. and the protestant pastors always say they love their congregation!.!. that's falseWww@Answer-Health@Com
Sorry to say it but old ladies can get very pushy!. now I am not saying all old ladies but some do tend to expect people to jump when they say jump!. Your mother needs to learn to say no as it is the only way to deal with an elderly lady who wants her own way!. I have had a bit of experience with ladies of this sort and my mother in law happens to be one!. Don't get me wrong I have a great relationship with her but when she wants something done she wants it done NOW! You just have to learn to tactfully say how it is!. Saying no is not a bad thing as you get walked all over in life if you don't!. The person who's party this is may well be really upset if this woman turns up at it or if she is put in a position to have to invite her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
