Answers:
Yes, for many years!. I am deeply sorry for what happenned to you!. First of all is your therapist a male or female!? Female therapist are more emphatic about your problems and in your situation you'll feel more comfortable expressing your emotions, which I know it's plain anger, sadness and misunderstanding!. You didn't do anything wrong so DON'T BLAME yourself!. At the first session don't expect to much, it's just an introduction!. Depending on your therapist, if she's young that's a plus on your side, she'll be eager to have interest in your case and put effort to help you!. Older one have a name for themselves already and see you just as another client!. Try to find out what specialty of therapy she/he practices, psychoanalytic is really not what you're looking, it's that basic "and how do you fell about that" " and why", they don't give you feedback!. You can answer those questions yourself and right now you don't need questions you need answers and sympathy Is your therapist specialized in raped victims!? Take it step at a time!. With the right therapist you'll be okay!. If you need help finding or just chatting, sometimes it's easier when you don't know the person or not having the person's not in the same room to let it all out!. I sincerely hope the best for you and get the pieces in your life back together again soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ignore the answer above, talking openly about your past to friends etc and getting therapy from a professional are not the same thing!
I have both had counselling and done brief courses on it!. Try not to worry, think of it as the first step to getting better!. Its natural to feel scared though, you are going to be talking about some difficult issues and it will be hard to start with so keep focused on your goal!.
During the first session the counsellor will explain what will happen and do there very best to make you feel relaxed and comfortable, i remember coming away from my first session feeling like i was on a new path and relieved that i had started!. I also felt excited to be trying to turn things around and getting some very personal thoughts out in the open!. Don't worry about what you will say, the counsellor will help you work through everything and get you started!. I was worried because i had so much stuff in my head that i couldn't imagine where to begin, i needn't have worried though as my counsellor was brilliant and really helped me by breaking it all down and getting to the real issues!. Just be honest and patient, I wish you lots of luck XxWww@Answer-Health@Com

On my first visit, my therapist asked me a bunch of questions for the insurance!.!.!.do I cut myself, do I see things, am I sexually active, do I have a boyfriend!. The questions touched on most bases!. Don't feel as though you have to answer them all!. They can be very personal, but being open helps you out more in the end!. It's a way for the therapist to get to know you and for the insurance!. Your therapist understands that many people are nervous on their first visit so he/she should try to make it easier for you!. He/she might ask you to set goals for therapy, and he/she might ask why you have decided to come!. Just be honest and open!. There's nothing to be afraid of!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

they want to know about your basic facts, like where you went to school, what your interests are, if you take meds, etc!.

they don't start by asking you such details!. they wait for signs that you're ready!. at least, that's what good therapists do!.

you're brave to face the past, and it's a good thing you are!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I go to psychiatric meetings, if you can talk this openly about your 'abusive past', then why are you going!? I mean, I go to meetings as I WON'T talk, due to the fact I trust no one, I suffer paranoia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
