Can you give me some Mental Stress relievers?!


Question: Can you give me some Mental Stress relievers!?
I don't want drugs, and I don't NEED alcohol!.

I HAVE NO stress relievers, like drinking or walking or hitting a pillow/wall, etc!.

Life sucks right now and I don't want to fall into any depression
eventhough it would be quite simple to do so at this very moment!.

I don't talk to anyone about what's going on, but I NEED A RELIEF!!

What do you do!?

I meditate!. I know it sound like a blah blah answer, but seriously, you can do it a hundred different ways, and wherever you are at the moment!.
basically, just cut everyone off for a short period of time (like hours - not days), and breathe and focus!.

Stress relief takes a while, but if you can start there, you can rearrange some things in your life, cut out the big stress factors and eventually eliminate the most of it!.!.!.

I know I'm a 'bottler' (not sure if that is a word!.!.!.but I hold things in and don't express myself!.!.!.which creates stress and depression)!. That's why I do some of the things I'm going to suggest for you!. There's therapy!.!.!.or a hotline!.!.!.or a support group!. 12-step groups are very helpful!. Could you qualify for any of these - Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Al-Anon (friends and family of alcohol/drug abusers), CoDA (codependents anon - to learn about healthy relationships), OA (overeaters anon), etc!. I live in san diego and if this ever happens to me, I would go walk at the beach or if the weather doesnt allow me, I would go to the gym and work out for at least an hour!. Then take a real nice long shower and fix yourself, comb your hair, make yourself look good as if you're going to meet your dream date! then call your friends if you have any, if they're not available, go to the mall and do some window shopping and give yourself kudos for not spending too much :) then eat a well balanced meal and drink a hot green tea!. avoid chocolates, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol!. they make u happy for few minutes and hurt you in the long run!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try exercise it releases chemicals into your body serotonin and dopamine, feel good chemicals!. Massage is also good for you not just because it helps you relax it also releases these chemicals!. lie down on your back and breathe in deeply, focusing on relaxing every muscle in your body, starting at your toes and working your way up!. when you exhale, think the word "relax"-- you can literally feel your stress going away!

if you're too hyped up for that, sing, dance, or smile!. watch some funny youtube videos or watch a good movie and actually LAUGH at other people's hilarity!. having some quality goof-off time will make you feel betterWww@Answer-Health@Com

Get you Mp3 player or whatever you have and go for a run!. Studies have shown, (sorry I don't feel like looking up the source) that hitting a pillow does not release stress but actually causes more!. By releasing adrenaline!. Activities like yoga, swimming, running, are good stress relievers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lot of people said this but I agree!.!.!.RUN! When I am in shape I run like 10 miles and when I am out of shape I run like 2!. But, as I run i feel like it takes a lot of stress off and gives me time to think!. Give it a shot doesn't matter how far you go or even if you go for a long walk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I am REALLY stressed, I take a drive and go for a hike on the mountain, it is good for the body and gives you plenty of time to mesh things over!.

I will call one of my good friends and ask to vent for a minute then usually go on a cleaning binge!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Exercise>>>endophins<<< and yes this may sound really cheesey but write a letter about all ur frustrations, do what ever you want with it but get it all out, spend atleast 10 min a day in the sun, if nothing else natural mood boosters: vitamin C, Calcium w/D!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go out, really get out of your room and catch a movie, goto a bookstore, walk in the mall, etc!.
