Is there a way to tell if your ADD medication is working?!

Question: Is there a way to tell if your ADD medication is working!?
I was recently diagnosed with Adult Attention Deficit Disorder!. Earlier today I took 18mg of Concerta!.

I'm not sure if I feel anything, is it normal to actually feel anything!? I want to say that I did feel as if my body felt heavy for a minute or so, or that I feel different mentally, but then you wonder if you were overthinking and tricked your body into feeling something, you know!?

I wanted to ask what other peoples experiences were and if they felt anything when they noticed a difference in their behavior or habits after taking medication for ADD!.

I know the first person I should be asking is my doctor, but frankly I didn't like her attitude when I went in and was diagnosed!. It was almost as if she didn't believe me or in the condition itself, as I could read from her demeanor and undertones in her speaking!. Although, it was not surprising as I found from all my research that there's this 'stigma' surrounding ADD!.

Thanks guys!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had been seeing a psychiatrist for 17 years for bipolar II disorder and severe depression!. I kept telling him that I thought I suffered from ADHD!. He kept telling me that I did not!. Once he retired, I went to see another psychiatrist!. She noticed the ADHD problem immediately and put me on Vyvanse!. Also, i had been seeing a man and I chose to starting seeing a lady!.

The Vyvanse kicked in immediately!. I became much calmer, instead of sitting around worrying about things, I got up and did something about them!. My thinking and my actions became much more organized!. My blood pressure even dropped!. My thoughts stopped going in every possible direction possible and my thinking became more directed!.

I think that doctors are extemely careful with diagnosing patients with ADHD because many of the treatments involve the use of amphetamines!. In my case, I had a Paranoic Schizophreni sister and one of her sons was biplar and had hanged himself!.

I hope ths helps!. I wish you the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
