Answers:
if you are depressed, you need help!. Not necessarily in a bad way, depending on how serious your depression is, the lighter or heavier the treatment will be!.
Sometimes a simple light can affect depression, and other times you will need to be medicated, and treated otherwise!.
I know it is hard, and I also know it's really hard to be alone, so what you should do is tell your parents with a friend!. Thats how I tell my parents a lot of things, Remember in Juno!? her best friend was there!.
You might not need a lot of help, but you still need your parents support!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bring it up slowly and casually!.

I used to have really bad depression--also "cut" and "burned" to escape emotional pain--and I know how hard it can be!.

Refrain from anything negative--negative friends, sad movies, sad music, etc!. It will also help!. Be positive and listen to "happy" things, I know how corny that sounds but it DOES help!

I never told my mom I was depressed, she found out when she saw the cuts!. Ermmm but I would suggest you come out with it before any of THAT happens! lol!. Just tell them how you feel and that you need some type of help--parental guidance and family support was all I needed, you don't HAVE to have counseling or drugs to get over this!

Just casually approach the subject!. That's how I would go about it!.

Are you sure depression is the only issue here!? It sounds like there might be something more that you're not talking about!. If this is the only issue, try asking your friends!. Or better yet, talk to someone who has been diagnosed!. As for what I would do, I would try hinting at it, like, "I feel sad all the time" or "sometimes I feel sad for no reason"!. They won't be mad or anything!. If you really do love them you should make it a priority to tell them!. If you can, just say it!. "I'm depressed!"

It can't possibly be as hard as coming out of the closet, trust me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please change your life style!. Please change your mind set!. Nurture good habits!. Build good moral behavior!. Eat good food!. Take sufficient rest!. Have good friends!. Think good!. Speak the truth!. Act nobly and virtuous!. Have good vision!. Use your existing time, resources, and energy for higher pursuits!. Invest from now on in lot of good-will!. Smile!. It does wonders!. It costs nothing!. It is contagious!. Pray for a while!.

Even if one person in a house follows the above rules, it will help the whole family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you need to just sit down and tell them so that they can get you some help so you wont hurt yourself!. Just do it on a calm day and spit it out!. Its good that you acknowledge it though, and I hope you do something to make you happy and not hurt yourself and make your family unhappyWww@Answer-Health@Com

maybe dont tell you parents your depressed right now, see if your brother can take you to some kind of counselor!. then you can talk it over with the counselor, and together, you can thik up a way to tell your parents!. good luck!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you go to them it will jsut flow, you dont need to plan what you need to say!. Belive me i have been there and if you just talk to them it wont matter how you tell them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You've taken a first great step by looking at this site on the Internet!. I have a friend named Nicole who once struggled with depression and wanted to die!. She tried and failed and today she's so glad!. You see, everything looked so bleak then that he could never imagine that things would change, but they did!. Life got better, way better, but the first thing he had to do was to be real about he felt!. You did that with us today!. Thank you!.

It's so important that you tell your parents, but if you feel as if they won't understand, maybe you could talk to someone first who can help, who knows the right things to say and who might even help you find the words to tell your mom and dad!.

These are some options:
Be honest with them!. If they don't listen, go to someone who will that is an adult and someone that you trust, like a youth sponsor, school counselor, school teacher!. If they don't listen as they should, let them know that you are serious, that you're really struggling and need help to make it through this tough time!.
Another resource is a suicide crisis hot line!. Here are three different numbers!.
