Trust me not very long without drugs!.!. If they are on drugs then I have heard people staying up for 3 weeks at a time!. It is not good for you at all!. It will make you go crazy!. Sleep is the way for your body to recoup for the next day!. if you get no sleep your brain will overload and this will cause you to have mental problems/learning disbilities in the future!.

Before dying!? Before having a massive breakdown!? Before having their judgment and abilities affected!? Obviously, there are different answers!.
It really doesn't take long at all for lack of sleep to mess up your judgment, hand-eye coordination, etc!. And taking caffeine or other stimulants doesn't really resolve that issue!.
On the other hand, studies have shown that insomniacs tend to under-estimate how much sleep they're actually getting !. !. !. !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on the person!. The 1st and ONLY time I tried acid!.!.I took 2 1/2 and was up 7 straight days and nights!. I was working crazy over time hours and my boss gave me like 4 days off!. The 1st night I took that crap and never knew what it could do-I found out later, I could have Over-Dosed because that was too much for my small body!.!.!.!.I was 19/20!. The last 3 days/nights I was still unable to sleep!.!.I had to go to work that wired!!!!!! I VOWED NEVER to do it again!!!!!! I am a very dominate person and independent!.!.!.I CAN'T STAND NOT BEING IN CONTROL!!!!!!! So when I realized how those so very small little pieces of paper the size of a pinky finger nail that doesn't grow, could control me like that!.!.!.it blew my mind!!!!!!!!! Plus, I found out later it's made with rat poison!!!!!!!! UGHHHHHHHHHHH I NEVER took it again and I'm 38!. My only son knows of any bad choices I have made in my life!.!.!.he also knew, I never repeated them!!!!!!!!!! If you don't learn from mistakes, you don't grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I shattered both bones and my ankle in my left leg-almost 5 yrs ago and I am on the minimum medication even though Dr!.'s have tried to give me much stronger!.!.!.I REFUSE IT because I just want something that takes the edge off the pain, NOT something I will need a clinic to get clean years down the road!. My muscle relaxers is also-minimum!.!.!.!.BUT, without it I can't sleep!.!.!.When my son's been in the hospital, in order to stay awake!.!.!.I skip my meds that allows me to sleep and suffer through the pain!.!.!.If he wakes up, I want to be able to take care of him, instead of relying on the nurses!. I just feel, it's Children's Hospital, and many more kids, need them, and my son has me to feed him and help him get to the bathroom, etc!.!.!.The longest I have stayed awake is 2-- 2 1/2 weeks 24/7!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I asked a doctor this question once and he told me he wasn't sure, but he told me about an experiment where they took some puppies and kept them awake by poking them with a stick and they died after two weeks!. Poor puppies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
