I can't clear my mind, how do you do this? meditate?!


Question: I can't clear my mind, how do you do this!? meditate!?
I can't seem to do this!. I just keep thinking to myself that I shouldn't be thinking about anything!.It almost hurts my head! I really want to do this!. Help, advice, anything!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you begin meditation it is very hard to clear all thoughts!. Better to put in your mind something that will just keep your thoughts from drifting!. That is why people use mantras!. By focusing on the mantra their minds aren't thinking about anything else!. I like to listen to my breathing!. In, two, three!.!.!. out, two three!. over and over and don't let my mind waver off of it!. Or counting is good!. I have used the thought of a tone!. if you can find a tone that feels right and hold the tone in your mind, that works well!. When your mind has been trained, then you can listen to the silence and be quiet in it, but at first you probably need some kind of gimmick to keep you from wandering!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I go somewhere not too cold, not too warm!.

Usually outside by nature, like by my trees in the backyard!.

Make sure you eat or drink something first, so your mind won't wander to thoughts about being hungry or thirsty!.

Just listen to trees rustling in the wind, that usually keeps me meditated!.

Try not to think about it, just imagine trying to fall asleep!. When trying to sleep you don't think about what you'll dream about, what you're going to wear the next day, etc; you just want to sleep!.

I had the same problem!.

After trying to "empty" my mind; I realized it wasn't possible!. I was getting distracted by an erroneous, fictitious idea, and my brain couldn't understand my command!.

It's like trying to "empty" a cup!. IMPOSSIBLE!. When you remove all the water, the cup is full of air!. To get rid of the air, you might try filling the cup with sand, and then to get rid of the sand!.!.!. (endless battle)

So, what worked for me, was knowing that maybe a cup cannot be "empty", but if it's full of air, it's just as good!.

When I try to relax, I imagine all my stressful thoughts as a sword!. I sheathe it, and lay it on the ground!.

I don't ask my brain to empty itself, but rather to let go!. I don't try not to think about anything!. I just stop trying anything at all!.

At first, like a small boat on a shore, some tides will push me back to land, but eventually I find myself in the open sea of relaxation!.

Don't try anything, just stop trying!. Breathing heavily helps if you can manage not to think about breathing!.

For me, the point of "emptying" my mind is to get in contact with my inner self, and that involves thinking, but without interference!. I "empty" the cup to fill it with something else; a perpetually "empty" cup is useless!. So, if I feel relaxed, and some ideas come to me, it means I'm finally "re-filling" my cup with the good stuff!.

I don't try to clear my mind like I clear my desktop, I let go of old thoughts so I can get some new ones!. I need to spill the rotten milk before I fill my cup with fresh milk!.

I don't know if I'm wise, but I sure am paying the price n_nWww@Answer-Health@Com

Beginners have problems with this the most!. It's your breathing!. and the relaxation of your muscles!. You can't just , 'clear your mind' you must sit on a flat surface and center yourself, but BREATHING will probably be your solution!.


WHen i say breathing, what I really mean is how you do it!. Slow, calm, collect, but steady!. Google it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

HELLO!!! Man, I have the same problem as you!! I ended up giving it up, but other people who have meditated act like it's sooo easy to clear your mind!. How can you really tell yourself stop thinking!? Even if you tell yourself that over and over!.!.!.you are still telling yourself that in your head!.!! It's crazy!. I'm going to keep an eye on this question!.

You can keep your concentration on breath pattern initially

You should try a hypnotizing video on youtube or get someone to hypnotize you for meditation purposes!. It is much easier than trying to do it yourself, and is very relaxing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
