Dizziness from esipram - know anything else about esipram and depression?!


Question: Dizziness from esipram - know anything else about esipram and depression!?
Okay my husband has started taking esipram for depression and its been about 5 days since he started taking it now!. He feels a little better but he commented to me today that about 2 hrs after taking the tablet he feels a bit light headed and dizzy!. I know this can be a side effect!.


Has anyone else been on this drug!? How did it help and what were the side effects!?

side effects: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, insomnia, anger, aggresion, sexual dysfunction, delusions, nightmares n sensitivity to light!. it takes about 2-4 weeks for ur body to adjust to it, then those symptoms should stop!. if they dont go back to ur doc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What dose is he on!? If on a high dose, this CAN be serotonin syndrome!. Mental confusion is one of the potential symptoms!. Does he have an muscle spams/twitch!? Shivering!? Sweating!? Tremors!?

Esipram (Lexapro) is an SSRI, and there are other SSRI's that he can try!. I would raise this concern with your prescribing physician, and maybe they will try a different agent!. Also, if another SSRI doesn't work, maybe a different class of medication would be better, such as an SNRI (Effexor), or older generation anti-depressant (like a tricyclic)!.
