ADHD stands for Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder!. There are three major symptoms!. They are Attention Defecit, Hyperactivity and poor impulse control!.

Attention Deficit - difficulty concentrating, underachieves for potential in school, short attention span, gets bored easily, looses interest in things very quickly, easily distracted, trouble paying attention!.

Hyperactivity - trouble sitting still and staying in one place, needs very little sleep, very talkitive, unusually loud, gets hyped up and has difficulty calming down, feels restless a lot, runs about or climbs a lot, fidgets and fiddles all the time, has trouble just walking from place to place and needs to skip and run!.

Poor impulse control - doesnt consider the consequences of actions, gets in trouble a lot, does and says the first thing that comes into their head, lives in the m,oment with little thought of the next moment, cant wait turn, blurts out answers before the question has been completed, often interrupts and intrudes on others!.

There are also three other things that must be the case in order for ADHD to be diagnosed!.

1!. - the problems must occur in multiple settings not just school!. These problems should be present at home, school, when out with friends, why playting nsport, when shopping, when watching TV and pretty much every where!.

2!. it is an inborn problem so to be diagnosed this problems must have been present from a very young age, at the very latest from the first year of school!.

3!. The problems must be far more severe than in most people of the same age and it must have caused significant problems and dysfunction in your life!.

If this sounds like you then you need to visit your family doctor and tell them your concerns and they can refer you to a specialist!.

However, it is important to remember that everyone suffers from these problems to some degree!. If you really have ADHD then you wouldnt have the problem of sometimes not being able to sit still for homework,!. you would never be able to sit still for homeowrk!. before diuagnosis many ADHD kids would never have been able to do homework ever in their lives!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
