If my meds are not working what can I do?!

Question: If my meds are not working what can I do!?
I'm going through one of the worst depressions of my life - and I've had plenty!.
I was seen in the ER a few weeks ago & was re-started on meds that worked before - but they are not working now!.
What can I expect if I go back to the ER and let them keep me (volunteer to be committed)!?
One of my biggest problems is that I've stopped even trying with my school work and if I didn't have my computer than I couldn't work on it even if I found that drive again!. I don't think I could stand being cut off from much (if that would make me worse what's the point of going in in the first place!?)
Any suggestions!? I need help soon - i find myself saying "i don't know what to do" more than any other words
I'm not suicidal (I swear!) but I feel like I'm about to break completely Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel really on the "edge" I'd still go and stay in the hospital, I've been hospitalized for depression too and it was very helpful for me!. Thing is if you do get worse they can help, so why take the chance!? Just my opinion from being in your exact situation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i feel the very same way, you just have to hang in there, there are loads of anti depressantsnts about and if the one you take doesn't work then the next one might people always have to change or re adjust there dose till they get the right balance i promise thats there much more options out thereWww@Answer-Health@Com

i reckon yea u should volunteer to be committed bak to ER
and ask for them to work out the right meds for u while ur in der
you'll b much safer cause you'll b watched and if u do snap and decide to do anything dangerous there'll b help nearby!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to your GP and get him to change you meds onto something else, or you may just need a higher dose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, don't go to the ER and volunteer to be committed!. I have been in mental hospitals and it is no fun and they don't really care about you, they just have a job to do and want to make it as pleasant as possible!. I would recommend concentrating on everything you have to be thankful for to get you out of your depression!. Think of all you have: electricity, your health (mostly, right!? Eyesight and legs), clean drinking water, money in bank, pets, loved ones, and anything else that makes you very happy that not everyone else has!. That should work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're not suicidal, homicidal, or causing great physical harm to yourself, I would be surprised if the ER kept you for an extended period of time!. I don't know if you were able to stay in the hospital the last time you were there, so I could be wrong!. Just around these parts it's nearly impossible to get a bed unless you're in very, very, very bad shape!.

I think seeing a psychiatrist (or psychiatric nurse practitioner or psychiatric physician assistant) would be helpful!. Even if you've been wrestling with depression for a while, I'm sure that there are a lot of drugs you haven't tried!. Someone who specializes in all things psychiatric will be able to steer you in the right direction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you have the determination to get out of this worst position but you still have to keep yourself strong!. If the medicines are not helping you in changing your mood then you should consult with your doctor as he/she will be either change the medicine or increase the dosage!.

if you don't have computer then do some thing else like you may be having some other instrument to keep yourself busy!. Play music and dance it will relax you bit and change your mood!.Call your any dear one and talk with with him/her!.

I found one great article to get out of depression and how to treat this feeling of negativity!.
