Question: Is there an actual psychological complex like this!?
Okay, I know there are lots of different kinds of complexes: Peter Pan, inferiority, Oedipus, messianic, etc!. etc!.
Is there one where people want something very badly but the moment they get it, they no longer want it!? One where getting something makes the thing lose its value!? Where people only want things that they can not have, so when they get it, it is unwanted!?
If so, what is the name of this complex!? Where can I learn more about it online!?

Sometimes this can be part of obsessive-compulsive disorder!. Other times it can be a symptom of bi-polar disorder!.
But you know really, as they say, "all that glitters is not gold"!. Think about that!. We want shiny things, new things, but things are not of real value to us!. We place too much emphasis on things and not enough on love!. I mean the kind of love in which we give to others!.
Try volunteering at your local Salvation Army and see if this might be what you are really wanting!.

I don't think this is considered a complex!. But your question is not stupid!. I have seen this in people from time to time!. I think it is not a complex so much as it is a symptom of another issue!. (maybe feeling that the item is undeserved)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
